    Caladbolg
    Owner Fergus Mac Roeg
    Source Irish Celtic Myth

    Descript.
The direction of the name is “the hard lightning”. Held with two hands, at the time to strike the enemy, it takes the dimension of a rainbow. It can then level the hills, passing above the armies.

    Story
At the time of the ultimate battle of the Táin Bó Cúailnge (“Raid of the cows of Cooley”), Fergus attacks the king of Ulster Conchobar Mac Nessa and a blow so powerful strikes to him that it makes “shout” his shield. Whereas it is on the point of massacring a great number of Ulates, it is girdled by Cormac Cond Longas which persuades it to divert its warlike fury towards the three hills which are in the marsh. Since, the topped hills bear the name of “Bald people of Mide”.

    Zulfikar

    First Owner Muhammad saw
    Owner Ali bin Abitalib
Last owner Imām Husayn ibn ‘Alī

Source Islamic Legend of Uhud Battle

    Descript.
A powerful scimitar that strong enough to Break armor, Shield, and scattering sword and other weapon. A few conflicting images of the sword exist. While some show two parallel blades to emphasize its mystical abilities and speed, while others portray a more traditionally-shaped scimitar. Some depict a split, V-shaped blade.

    Story
By most accounts, Muḥammad saw presented Zulfiqar to a young ‘Alī at the Battle of Uhud. During the battle, ‘Alī struck one of the fiercest adversaries, breaking both his helmet and his shield. Seeing this, Muhammad saw was reported to have said "There is no hero but ‘Alī and no sword except Dhū l-Fiqār" Arabic: لا فتى إلا علي لا سيف إلا ذو الفقار‎. This is widely engraved on weapons and has become a battle cry for some Muslims.

Imām Husayn ibn ‘Alī used Zulfiqar in the Battle of Karbala, and as a result it is seen as a symbol of honour and martyrdom. Shī‘ah Muslims, who consider ‘Alī the rightful successor to Muḥammad saw, consider the sword to be exceptional because its bearers were both Muḥammad saw and ‘Alī, who was highly regarded among Muslims and non-Muslims.

By most historical accounts, ‘Alī used the sword at the Battle of the Trench to cut a fierce Meccan opponent and his shield in two halves. The opponent was Amr ibn Abdawud, whose strength was often compared to that of a thousand men. No one had dared to fight him except ‘Alī, who killed him with one powerful blow. Though Amr wore strong armor and carried powerful weapons, he is said to have been no match to ‘Alī and his sword.

    Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi (天叢雲剣) or Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (草薙の剣)

Inside the remain of Yamata no Orochi
    First Owner Susa-no-ou
    Owner Yamata Takeru
    Last owner Emperor Temmu
Then believed to be sealed inside a Atsuta Shrine because it bring an illness to the emperor

    Source Kojiki

    Description
the sword was about 84 cm long, shaped like calamus, fashioned in a white metallic color, and well maintained. Another record claims that this priest died from the curse and the power of the sword.

    Story
After slain Yamata no Orochi, Susa-no-ou discovered a great sword inside the body of the serpent which he called Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi (lit. "Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven"), which he presented to the goddess, Amaterasu to settle an old grievance.

Generations later, in the reign of the Twelfth Emperor, Keikō, Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi was given to the great warrior, Yamato Takeru as part of a pair of gifts given by his aunt, Yamato-hime the Shrine Maiden of Ise Shrine, to protect her nephew in times of peril.

These gifts came in handy when Yamato Takeru was lured onto an open grassland during a hunting expedition by a treacherous warlord. The lord had fiery arrows to ignite the grass and trap Yamato Takeru in the field so that he would burn to death. He also killed the warrior's horse to prevent his escape. Desperately, Yamato Takeru used the Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi to cut back the grass and remove fuel from the fire, but in doing so, he discovered that the sword enabled him to control the wind and cause it to move in the direction of his swing. Taking advantage of this magic, Yamato Takeru used his other gift, fire strikers, to enlarge the fire in the direction of the lord and his men, and he used the winds controlled by the sword to sweep the blaze toward them. In triumph, Yamato Takeru renamed the sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (lit. "Grasscutter Sword") to commemorate his narrow escape and victory. Eventually, Yamato Takeru married and later fell in battle with a monster, after ignoring his wife's advice to take the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi with him.

Two legendary Japan's swordsmith clan : Masamune and Muramasa
    Legend:
A legend tells of a test where Muramasa challenged his master, Masamune, to see who could make a finer sword. They both worked tirelessly and eventually, when both swords were finished, they decided to test the results. The contest was for each to suspend the blades in a small creek with the cutting edge facing the current. Muramasa's sword, the Juuchi Yosamu (10,000 Cold Nights)10,000 cut everything that passed its way; fish, leaves floating down the river, the very air which blew on it. Highly impressed with his pupil's work, Masamune lowered his sword, the Yawaraka-Te (Tender Hands), into the current and waited patiently. Not a leaf was cut, the fish swam right up to it, and the air hissed as it gently blew by the blade. After a while, Muramasa began to scoff at his master for his apparent lack of skill in the making of his sword. Smiling to himself, Masamune pulled up his sword, dried it, and sheathed it. All the while, Muramasa was heckling him for his sword's inability to cut anything. A monk, who had been watching the whole ordeal, walked over and bowed low to the two sword masters. He then began to explain what he had seen.

"The first of the swords was by all accounts a fine sword, however it is a blood thirsty, evil blade, as it does not discriminate as to who or what it will cut. It may just as well be cutting down butterflies as severing heads. The second was by far the finer of the two, as it does not needlessly cut that which is innocent and undeserving."

In another account of the story, both blades cut the leaves that went down on the river's current equally well, but the leaves would stick to the blade of Muramasa whereas they would slip on past Masamune's after being sliced. Or alternatively both leaves were cut, but those cut by Masamune's blade would reform as it traveled down the stream. Yet another version has leaves being sliced by Muramasa's blade while the leaves were repelled by Masamune's, and another again has leaves being sliced by Muramasa's blade and healed by Masamune's.

In yet another story Muramasa and Masamune were summoned to make swords for the Shogun or Emperor and the finished swords were held in a waterfall. The result is the same as the other stories, and Masamune's swords are deemed holy swords. In one version of the story Muramasa is killed for creating evil swords.

Masamune Style : The swords of Masamune have a reputation for superior beauty and quality.
Muramasa Style contrasted with those of Masamune.

    Comparison
    Legend :
Muramasa's blades are described as bloodthirsty or evil.
Masamune's blades are considered the mark of an internally peaceful and calm warrior.
Masamune's blade and Muramasa's blade being put into a river strewn with lotus leaves. The leaves swirled around the Masamune blade untouched, but the Muramasa blade cut them.

Sword of Attila/ Sword of Mars (By Roman Historian)/ az Isten kardja/ Sword of War God
    First Owner Attila the Hun
Source Legend of the horde of the Hun

    Story
The Sword of Attila was the legendary weapon carried by Attila the Hun. The Roman historian Jordanes, quoting the work of the historian Priscus, gave the story of its origin:

"When a certain shepherd beheld one heifer of his flock limping and could find no cause for this wound, he anxiously followed the trail of blood and at length came to a sword it had unwittingly trampled while nibbling the grass. He dug it up and took it straight to Attila. He rejoiced at this gift and, being ambitious, thought he had been appointed ruler of the whole world, and that through the sword of Mars supremacy in all wars was assured to him."

The use of "Mars" here is due to the interpretatio romana of Priscus, however, as the Huns would not have adopted the names of Roman deities; the more likely name used by the Huns would have been the more generic "sword of the war god;" Hungarian legends refer to it simply as "az Isten kardja," the sword of God. Priscus's description is also notable for describing how Attila used it as both a military weapon and a symbol of divine favor, which may have contributed to his reputation as "the Scourge of God," a divinely-appointed punisher. As historian Edward Gibbon elaborated, "the vigor with which Attila wielded the sword of Mars, convinced the world that it had been reserved alone for his invincible arm."[2] In this way it became somewhat of a sceptre as well, representing Attila's right to rulership.

In the eleventh century, some five hundred years after the death of Attila, a sword claimed to have belonged to him surfaced, according to Lambert of Hersfeld, who attributed its provenance to the recently-established Árpád kings of Hungary, who appropriated the cult of Attila and linked a claimed descent from him with their right to rule. The occasion was the unfortunate death of Leopold de Merspurg, a counsellor to the king, who fell from his horse and was impaled upon his own sword. The sword's history given by Johann Pistorius, was that it had been given by the queen-mother of King Salomon to Otho, Duke of Bavaria, who had urged the emperor to reinstate Salomon's possessions. Otho had given it to Dedus, younger son of the margrave Dedus, after whose death it had come to the king, who had given it to Leopold, whose death— it was asserted by partisans of his rival Otho— had been a divine judgment.

There is no evidence to substantiate these medieval claims of its origin with Attila; the sword, in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, as part of the Habsburg Schatzkammer in fact appears to be the work of ninth or tenth century Hungarian goldsmiths.

    Durandal
    First Owner Hector of Troy
    Last Owner Count Rolland
    Source Song of Rolland

    Descript
In The Song of Roland, the sword is said to contain within its golden hilt one tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Saint Basil, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

    Story
As told in the Matter of France, Durendal or Durandal (Italian: Durlindana Spanish: Durandal or Durandarte) is the sword of Charlemagne's paladin Roland (Orlando in Italian). According to Ludovico Ariosto's Orlando Furioso it once belonged to Hector of Troy, and was given to Roland by Malagigi (Maugris).

In the poem, Count Roland attempts to destroy the sword to prevent it from being captured by the ambushing Saracens and creates La Brèche de Roland in the Pyrenees in the process. But Durendal proves indestructible, so he hides it beneath his body along with the oliphant, the horn used to alert Charlemagne.

Local folklore claims Durendal still exists, preserved in Rocamadour, France. An inscription on Ogier the Dane's sword Curtana read My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durendal.

    Gram (lit, Wrath)/ Balmung/ Nothung
    Owner Siegfried
    Source Nordic Mythology

    Descript
Few has been written about its sword appearance except it was a Great Zweihander (Two Handed Sword)

In Norse mythology, Gram (Old Norse "wrath") is the name of the sword that Sigurd (Siegfried) used to kill the dragon Fafnir. It was forged by Weyland the Smith and originally belonged to his father, Sigmund, who received it in the hall of the Volsung after pulling it out of the tree Barnstokk into which Odin had stuck it—nobody else could pull it out. The sword was destroyed and reforged at least once. After it was reforged, it could cleave an anvil in half.

In the Nibelungenlied, Siegfried's sword is called Balmung; in Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle, it is called Nothung.

    Sword of Saladin
    Spoiler untuk gambar :

    Owner Saladin (Salahudin Yusuf)
    Source story of Crusades

    Descript.
The Sword of Saladin is a Holy Avenger in the form of a scimitar.

    Story
In 1076, the Muslims had captured Jerusalem (by Saladin Armies)- the most holy of holy places for Christians. Jesus had been born in nearby Bethlehem and Jesus had spent most of his life in Jerusalem. He was crucified on Calvary Hill, also in Jerusalem. There was no more important place on Earth than Jerusalem for a true Christian which is why Christians called Jerusalem the "City of God".

However, Jerusalem was also extremely important for the Muslims as Muhammad, the founder of the Muslim faith, had been there and there was great joy in the Muslim world when Jerusalem was captured. A beautiful dome - called the Dome of the Rock - was built on the rock where Muhammad was said to have sat and prayed and it was so holy that no Muslim was allowed to tread on the rock or touch it when visiting the Dome.

Therefore the Christian fought to get Jerusalem back while the Muslims fought to keep Jerusalem. These wars were to last nearly 200 years

    Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar
    Spoiler untuk gambar :

    Owner King Solomon
Source the Persian legend Amir Arsalan

    Descript.
    The emerald-studded sword...

    Story
The witch mother of an hideous horned demon called Fulad-zereh.
Fulad-zereh meaning "[possessing] steel armor," is the name of a huge horned demon in the Persian story of Amir Arsalan....
, used a charm to make Fulad-zereh's body invulnerable to all weapons except the blows of a specific sword called Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar.
This blade originally belonged to King Solomon, and was carefully guarded by Fulad-zereh, not only because it was a valuable weapon, and indeed the only weapon that could harm the demon, but also because wearing it was a charm against magic. A wound inflicted by this sword could only be treated by a special potion made from a number of ingredients, including Fulad-zereh's brai.

    Claymore (Pedangnya Highlander)

The claymore is one of the most recognizable swords in history. A uniquely Scottish hand-and-a-half style of sword, first appearing at the beginning of the sixteenth Century, it is almost certainly a development of the Scots-Irish single hand style of sword. Shorter and lighter, in general, than the continental Two-Hander, the average Claymore ran about 55 inches in over all length, with a 13 inch grip and a 42 inch blade.Fairly uniform in style, the sword was set with a wheel pommel often capped by a crescent shaped nut and a guard with straight, down sloping arms ending in quatrefoils and langets running down the center of the blade from the guard.
