Girls’ Generation Become ‘Flowers’ in Third e-ma Commercial

The third e-ma Nodoame (Translator’s note: nodoame means throat candy) commercial featuring Girls’ Generation is set to air on February 25th in Japan.
The theme for the first e-ma commercial was “dinner party”, which was accompanied by the Japanese version of “Gee”. The second commercial’s theme was “dollhouse”, while the song “Bad Girl” was playing in the background. For the latest commercial, the theme will be “a flower that blooms in the city” with the new song from the re-packaged Japanese album “Time Machine” being used as the background track.
The members of Girls’ Generation represent a “refreshing flower”, which draws comparison to the refreshing feeling a customer will experience when eating the candy. During the commercial, the girls are flower petals that eventually become a “beautiful flower” when all nine members gather together. The commercial ends with the girls standing in a row before a large metropolis as dawn approaches. In that ending moment, the theme is complete as the “flowers” bloom beautifully and with pride.
Filming for the commercial took place in the outskirts of Seoul in order to accommodate the increasingly busy schedules of Girls’ Generation. Throughout the entire filming session, the girls never complained and continued to work diligently with smiles on their faces.

Taeyeon Continues to MC “Gaon Chart Awards” Despite an Injury

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon received praise when she injured her toe and continued to emcee the Gaon Chart Awards.
Taeyeon injured her toenail while she performed her MC duties with Joo Younghoon in “The First Gaon Chart K-pop Awards” that was held at the Samsung Card Hall in Blue Square.
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Yoona accepted the “Special Oricon Award” on behalf of all the members. After Yoona’s acceptance speech, she asked Taeyeon to deliver her own speech. At this time, Taeyeon said her acceptance speech despite still being in the MC stands.
At this, Joo Younghoon explained, “Taeyeon has ripped her toenail during the awards and she is still doing her duties as an MC while fighting through the pain.”
Taeyeon replied by saying, “You don’t have to say that with so much detail. I’ve only gotten hurt a little bit,” and eased the fans’ hearts.
But Taeyeon had to put on slippers instead of high heels because of her injury.
Fans expressed their sadness by saying, “If her toenail was flipped then the pain would be horrible”, “There should be limitations to dancing”, “Taeyeon is really admirable. She didn’t show her pain..She has more than enough rights to be the kid leader”, and, “Make sure to get medical attention for it”.

‘Wild Romance’ Airs Its Final Episode

On February 23rd, Jessica’s first drama, “Wild Romance”, came to an end. Jessica appeared in ten out of sixteen episodes as Kang Jonghee, a painter who bites people she cares about, holds her liquor, loves her cat, and is even bipolar. Despite intense overseas schedules in New York, Paris and Bangkok, she delivered solid performances in each episode, exceeding expectations for her first time acting.
Though it had an overall straightforward plot, “Wild Romance” featured unpredictable, and often unbelievable, twists and turns that gave Jessica many chances to show off her acting talents. Fans were especially delighted, and sometimes horrified, to see Jessica act in a variety of scenes involving holding a baby, having a seizure, washing a cat, painting, and even kissing. Not known for her cooking skills, one of Jessica’s most challenging acting scenes came in episode twelve, where her character cooks a meal. After watching her act in these different situations, many viewers complimented Jessica on her ability to portray both a light and dark side to her character.
Jessica also sat down for several interviews about “Wild Romance”, one of which she described the drama as a learning experience and also thanked her seniors Lee Dongwook and Lee Siyoung. Having proven that she can adapt to performing in a variety of scenes while juggling activities with Girls’ Generation, Jessica will hopefully soon be able to apply what she has learned from “Wild Romance” in future dramas. Until then, we will look forward to Jessica’s return to the Korean drama scene.

Girls’ Generation’s New PV for ‘Time Machine’ to Feature Imada Kouji

Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation”, which was released on June 31st 2011, reached a shipping record of one million copies, a first in the history of Japan as a Korean artist . There will be a new music video to continue the rapid advancement of Girls’ Generation into Japan. The music video will be for their new song “Time Machine”, and comedian Imada Kouji will appear in the video.
“Time Machine” is a new ballad song that was recorded for last year’s repackaged album release on December 28th, titled “Re:Package Album: Girls’ Generation ~The Boys~”. On February 25th, the song will also be promoted in Girls’ Generation’s CF of UHA Mikukato “E-ma Nodoame”.
Imada Kouji is a self-proclaimed Girls’ Generation fan and leads in knowledge and enthusiasm in the entertainment world, so the staff of Girls’ Generation made the offer to include him.
On the day of shooting, which fell on Valentine’s Day, Imada was not concerned that it was a day off and continued on with the schedule. He was fully motivated and looked forward the challenge. Imada Kouji was often seen as a strong man, but for this he passionately acted out the role of a weak man. He was to cry alone in a room while remembering about the unforgettable past.
Imada Kouji commented on his performance and said, “This is my happiest job ever since a couple of years ago. Before the manager finished talking, I enthusiastically said, ‘I’ll do it.’ The filming was really fun. I gave it my all. When I saw the proposal written with ‘Girls’ Generation Tenth Member’, I felt complete like cutting the goal-tape. I want to receive a business card that says ‘Girls’ Generation Tenth Member’. As one of the fans of Girls’ Generation in the entertainment world, I’m glad they offered me the spot. To the other entertainers who are fans of Girls’ Generation, I feel like I have to tell them the stage has changed (laughs).”
Furthermore, the music video for “Time Machine” is set to be released in early March. For the girls, this music video concept is something that they have not done so far and it seems that the video was influenced by the atmosphere of the teaser. The thirty-second version of the teaser can be seen on Girls’ Generation’s official Japan Facebook page which was opened on February 24th, while the fifteen-second version will be broadcast on Japanese TV on February 25th. You can look up the translations of “Time Machine” in Soshified’s Lyrics Center Section and also check out the thirty-second version of the teaser below.

This fashion brand not only has stylish clothes, but allows the shopper to experience their full creativity while they shop. What do you think of Tiffany’s outfit? Looks pretty stylish to me! She doesn’t wear teal too often, so this was a pleasant change from her normal pink . Her silver dress matches perfect with the teal top and they definitely compliment each other! Spoiler untuk Last Episode of ‘Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys’ to Be Broadcast Next Week :

The last episode of jTBC’s “Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys” will be broadcast on March 4th.
Girls’ Generation, who were the boys’ mentors, faced several difficulties throughout the show but did not falter. Even though one of the boys left halfway through the show, the members of Girls’ Generation continued to give warm advice and cold warnings to the boys even when they were not recording for the show.
With the help of Girls’ Generation’s earnest hearts, the boys improved tremendously and not only impressed the girls, but the staff as well.
With the first recording session happening way back on November 20th of last year, Girls’ Generation could not hide their sadness upon saying their goodbyes. Sunny, in particular, mentioned that Kim Hwehoon even appeared in her dreams, while Seohyun, who received the nickname “Enraged Seohyun”, showed tears during the last interview session and said, “I think I did poorly with the kids but I have also learned a lot through this program.”
Even the boys looked like they couldn’t believe that they were actually saying goodbye to each other, and one of them even shed tears after filming ended.

CN Blue successfully completes their Japanese tour

Popular Hallyu band CN Blue has successfully completed their nationwide Japanese tour. The tour was held in celebration of the release of their second major label single, ‘Where You Are‘.

The single, which was released back on February 1st, debuted at number 1 on the Weekly Oricon Charts. This caused CN Blue to kick off a nationwide tour that catered specifically to the members of their fan club.

On the 13th, CN Blue began their tour in Osaka, and made their way across Japan with stops in Nagoya, Tokyo, and Yokohama for a total of nine performances. This tour was special because they only performed in venues that they had already performed at when they were an indie band. The set list for the tour consisted of 12 songs including their major label singles as well as their indie singles.

At the completion of the tour, the CN Blue members said, “As we embarked on the tour, we were reminded of our indie days as well as the fans that followed us since then. We will continue to work hard so that we can make good music for our fans.”

In related news, CN Blue will be performing this March in LA with labelmates F.T Island, after which they will be preparing for their upcoming Korean album.

Photo of YoonA & Jang Geun Suk’s script reading for ‘Love Rain’ revealed

A photo of the script reading for KBS‘s upcoming drama ‘Love Rain’ was recently revealed.

The drama, which will feature Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA and Jang Geun Suk as leads, will be airing on KBS as ‘Dream High 2‘ comes to a close.

The photo of the script reading was taken on February 23rd, as the leads met to practice for the opening shoot, which will take place in Japan. In it, netizens were able to see YoonA, Jang Geun Suk, and producer Jung Jin Young hard at work as they prepare for the filming.

The drama will feature both actors in dual roles. Jang Geun Suk plays a handsome ’70s art student named ‘Seo In Ha’, and his son in the year 2012, a free-spirited photographer named ‘Seo Jun’. YoonA, on the other hand, will be playing the innocent ’70s campus goddess ‘Kim Yoon Hee’, as well as her daughter in 2012, ‘Hana’.

The producer was quoted as saying, “Last September, we wrapped up the filming for the 70′s storyline and we will now be shooting the 2012 love story. We felt that the script reading for the 2012 shoot was very different from the feel of the 70′s filming, and so we think that this will be a highly interesting drama. Please look forward to it.”

CNBLUE completes concert tour in Thailand with great success

On the 25th of February, CNBLUE finished off their "BLUESTORM Tour" in Thailand with a final concert in Bangkok. Originally, the band was supposed to play their Thailand leg of the tour last November, but due to the floods, the concert was postponed.

During the concert, they band performed 24 songs to a packed stadium. This included some of their big hits like "I'm a Loner", "Intuition", and "Love", as well as a few of their popular Japanese tracks such as "Where You Are" and "In My Head".

Before the concert took place, CNBLUE presented a donation that they had raised from an auction last year to the Thai Red Cross Society (also known as the Princess Pa Foundation). To raise the money, the boys auctioned off their performance outfits. This money will go to assist those who were affected by the flood.

CNBLUE is now in Taiwan for their Asian Tour, which will include a show on February 28th. After which, they will be returning to South Korea to start preparing for their next album.

Recount of Girls’ Generation’s Appearance on ‘Kim Jungeun’s Chocolate’ in 2009 by PD

    This is how it started.
I wanted to make a unique stage, starting with “Gee” and ending with “Tell Me Your Wish”, since it was a special episode. No one can ever get sick of these two songs, but I wanted to show a new side of the girls other than the ones that viewers can see in normal music programs. SM agreed with my idea and the girls started to practice in the midst of their killer schedules.
“Gee” was rearranged to a version that starts with a piano-jazz-like piece and continues on into a strong, rock-like version. We also prepared a six minute non-stop dance battle that shows the power only Girls’ Generation has. Apart from that, close attention was paid to the members who were hidden behind other members such as maknae Seohyun’s piano solo and the dancing queen Hyoyeon’s power stage. We were worried that all the effort would not be shown to their entirety and worked hard to correct and edit one move, or one facial expression, to make a perfect stage. Also, the musical part of the stages were prepared so that we wouldn’t be shamed anywhere in the music industry.
Even after all that work, I felt that it wasn’t enough. The girls’ appeals are not only in their songs, but in their personalities too. I didn’t want to waste time asking for their ideal types so that what people called, “Variety Talk”, could be discussed. That wasn’t the “Chocolate” I was thinking about. This is also because of the fact that all of these trivial things are known to people since Girls’ Generation is the nations’ sister group. I wanted to make it meaningful for the viewers and also help the girls at the same time.
This thought became more solid when I met them in the band practice room to practice the song. They were the same as other twenty year-olds who laugh freely, chatter, and pull pranks on one another. Even if I was only there for an hour or so, it was enough for me to see and confirm the fact that they each have their own personalities, how close they are to each other, and how much they care for each other. The thought that said “I want to show this” flashed across my mind like lightning.
As “Tell Me Your Wish” became more popular, Girls’ Generation got busier. To match the title of the song, many variety shows where Girls’ Generation had to grant someone’s wish were aired.
In various talk programs and shows, Girls’ Generation had to sing, dance and laugh for the viewers. It’s true that their popularity is something to thank for, but the girls could not stay at home with their families and had to always smile even though they are at the age where they should stay home and be spoiled.
I didn’t want to tell them to grant someone’s wish again. I wanted to know the wishes the girls’ themselves had in their minds, and I wanted to reverse the situation and grant their wish, even if it’s a small, trivial thing.
I thought of a program called “Change” in which I was in charge of last year. The participant who became another person with special make-up almost always named their families when they were asked who they wanted to meet first. The people who called their family are the people they always live with, fight with, and upset the most. Despite these facts, when the participants, such as Hyori, Hoyoung, Tablo and Ok Dongja [Editor's note: Ok Dongja is a famous comedian] met their families, they always shed tears. It was a very difficult, yet meaningful program to me, who thought that “family”, as a subject, was boring.
We casted maknae Seohyun’s mother through the managers, while keeping it a secret from the girls. Her mother told us that she hasn’t seen her daughter in over a month and that she was sorry for not celebrating Seohyun’s birthday with her last month. She went on to say that she would do anything for her only daughter and eventually agreed to appear on the episode. Since this wasn’t a planned hidden camera, we held meetings after meetings on this until the very last night.
After the recording started, Seohyun’s mother, who was disguised as a regular audience with a mask, wished for Girls’ Generation to teach her daughter aegyo. She also asked for Girls’ Generation to read her letter to her daughter. Girls’ Generation, who only thought that they were granting another wish, started to talk amongst themselves. When Kim Jungeun, the MC, asked maknae Seohyun to hug her, the girls’ eyes were already red.
Seohyun’s mother hugged Seohyun and took her mask off to wish Seohyun a happy belated birthday before giving her the baby diary she had planned to give to Seohyun on her wedding day. The girls all started crying and the MC also turned around to hide her tears.
The recording scene became a silent sea of tears.
When the MC told the girls that they could say something to their mothers if they wanted to, Taeyeon, as expected of a leader, took the lead and said, “The word ‘mom’ is a forbidden word among the members of Girls’ Generation!”

At this time, Tiffany, who was crying the hardest, raised her hand and said, “I…want to talk.”
While we were preparing for the episode with Girls’ Generation, there was something that the managers sincerely requested, and it was to take note of what we say while talking about the girls’ families as it is a difficult topic for some of the girls.
The staff members who knew the basis of the stories were trying hard not to emphasize the word “mom” as they were also worried that the girls might get hurt.
With a smile on her face, Tiffany started by saying, “This is the first time I’m talking about this..” and said a brief, but beautiful hello to her mother. Afterwards, she regained her strength and said this, ”I’m very thankful that you gave me eight very special sisters instead,” and hugged every one of her members. The other members also hugged one another and said words of encouragement while wiping the tears off of each other’s face. Seohyun’s mother also hugged each of them and said that Seohyun learned a lot of aegyo because of the eight older sisters. Even me, who was watching in the sidelines and directing the cameras, became emotional and couldn’t stop my voice from shaking.
Honestly, even while writing this at this moment, my eyes are tearing up. One of my sunbaes clicked his teeth at me and said, “Tsk tsk, what are we going to do if the PD has such a soft heart…”
After the talk, during the break time, we made an emergency announcement. There were a lot of reporters in the audience, so we told them that this is a very private matter, hence it may not be aired and requested for them to not publish it in the news. After that, I ran to their waiting rooms because I was worried about them. I had been trying to give them a special gift in the beginning, but all I could think of was how sorry I was now.
With a worried face, I started looking for Tiffany. “Fany-ah!” Surprisingly, Tiffany ran up to me and hugged me at once. Tiffany, who was still teary-eyed, held both of my hands and said, “Thank you PD-nim~!” The girl smiled at me and said that she was really happy and thankful for a wonderful gift and that I may include this in the episode; to a person who was still sorry for what he did.
For this girl, I was very thankful, proud, sorry and my heart ached so much. Fany-ah..and kids.. thank you and I’m sorry…
Honestly, I don’t really know about these kids. I’ve never even met them properly until this time. Just like every other samchon fan, I was just pleased by the cuteness the name, “Girls’ Generation”, gives off. However, these girls became very dear to me because of this recording session. Not as a fan and not as a man, but as an older brother who wishes that the young and fragile sisters don’t ever get hurt.
I’m sure that I am delusional but it feels like I’ve really become one of their family members. As the group’s popularity increases, it is very natural that there will be different kinds of rumors. There is a lot of talk about loners, fights and curses about Girls’ Generation, but one thing I can say out of experience, is the fact that those words are garbage and not even worth a second thought.
To each other, the members of Girls’ Generation are like blood sisters, loving mothers and beautiful daughters. The group of girls was actually a family named “Girls’ Generation”. Through this recording session, I was introduced to a loving family.
It started with “Let’s grant Girls’ Generation’s wishes” in the beginning, but in the end, I received a big gift from Girls’ Generation.

Girls’ Generation Initially Rejected Offer to Perform on “The Late Show with David Letterman”

Girls’ Generation Initially Rejected Offer to Perform on “The Late Show with David Letterman”

On February 29, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun made an appearance on SBS “Strong Heart” and revealed for the first time that the group almost rejected the offer to perform on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

“We first wanted to decline the call from David Letterman’s show. The stage was too small and there was no way all nine girls were going to dance on it. Also, we were going to promote with the remix version of our track, but they didn’t have the system to play the beat, and it was just too difficult to perform on that stage. So there were concerns that it might be better off just not appearing on the show at all,” Seohyun said.

“But they specially expanded the stage for us, and we were able to successfully finish our performance there,” she added.

Seohyun also said, "There were reservations about appearing on David Letterman's show because of its format that puts more focus on the conversation with the host. We're a group that promotes with our performance, so there were some concerns of going on the show."

On January 31, the Girls’ Generation held a special live performance of their U.S. debut single, “The Boys,” on the popular CBS talk show, “The Late Show with David Letterman.” After the performance, netizens voiced their displeasure over the small size of the stage and how the performance felt a bit congested, so Seohyun's story makes pretty good sense. You can see the full performance below!

f(x)’s Krystal talks about the loving relationship with her sister Jessica

In an recent interview with MyDaily, f(x)’s Krystal, who has been acting in MBC’s sitcom ‘High Kick 3′, revealed the loving relationship with her older sister Jessica from Girls’ Generation.
The interviewer asked, “Who do you usually play with? I guess with your older sister (Jessica)?” To that question, Krystal answered, “My sister is really busy so I usually play alone.”

However, Krystal revealed a cute situation some time ago when Jessica was practicing her script for her drama ‘Wild Romance’. One of Jessica’s lines was “Can you get me some water?”

Not knowing that her elder sister was practicing her lines, Krystal went and got Jessica a glass of water but the latter was surprised when she saw Krystal and she asked, “What are you doing?” Krystal replied, “You told me to get you some water,” causing her sister to laugh and said, “I was practicing my lines!”

The interviewer also asked Krystal about the photo of them that was taken during the KBS Song Festival in December where Jessica was seen kissing Krystal on the cheek on the final stage. The interviewer commented that Krystal did not look like she enjoyed being kissed on the cheek by her sister.

To that, Krystal replied, “When I saw the article, they wrote how I was unhappy about it but in fact, I was taken by surprise because, I’m usually the one who kiss my sister a lot, especially when she’s sleeping.”

“I don’t hate it (the kiss) at all. It’s just that in front of so many people, my sister kissed me and I felt a little embarrassed. I wasn’t even aware that my expression was being shot.”
