Nah, everyone has different view, but for me, especially at informal circumstances, grammar is not really that important. Seriously Grammar is not as important as thought. Grammar is there to help transmit thought, but must of us are smart and we can still see what someone means if the grammar is slightly off. If there's a misspelling, you can still figure things out.

When it comes to English, most people in Western Countries go from their fluency to the said language, not to detailed things such as grammar, tenses, syntax or whatever you'd like to call. Akin to citizens of Indonesia whom practically able to speak Bahasa before entering school.

Usually grammar, tenses, and everything are very much needed when you're expected to write something formal. Like writing to apply a job for example, grammar could determine wether you're serious or not

Anyway, talking about grammar made me remember that I once heard someone from a certain english course attempted to use perfect tense in a daily conversation, and all I heard from him was some gibberish

It depends

In a basic, everyday conversation, you don't really need grammar to make others understand you

However, in formal writing, the importance of grammar is absolute. It can determine whether you're serious or not
