ProjectXI Version 0.3.1 "ZOE" has been released. The official release post can be found here, which includes the Readme text and a direct download link to the release file (in RAR format). Due to the merging of FFXiLock and ProjectXI, the version numbers have gone slightly awry, so we are simply going to continue the increasing the second tier in a non-decimal manner (thus, 0.9 will be followed by 0.10, etc.), reserving the third tier for bug fixes.
Here is a F.A.Q. regarding the current version of pXI:
1. What can it do?
Basically, it allows you to walk around a private instance of a zone that contains no monsters, NPCs, or interactive objects of any kind. Obviously, no quests, missions, or parties are available yet. In fact, doors don't even open. And, please note that when you "shift" from the public server to your private server, nearly all variables are held static on your computer. So, things like equipment and weather will be frozen. And remember that it takes 30 seconds to "time-out" or "log off," so, when you shift, make sure you are in a safe section of the zone without any monsters.
2. What improvements have been made to ProjectXI Version 0.3.1?
ProjectXI now allows /logout, and has ridded us of the annoying 30 second logout delay--for now, at least. It will also allow zoning to a server-specified zone, however the destination position may or may not be a valid area in the destination zone. Multiple clients are now supported as well, but the only multiperson interactive feature thus far is /tell, and only the server operator can see the nicknames currently on the server.
3. What is required to operate it?
The current version of pXI requires both a valid, active POL ID and FFXI Content ID. This requirement may continue to exist throughout early or all versions.
4. How do I operate it?
To run the client, simply enter Final Fantasy XI and select your character. When you are in a safe spot (free from the possibility of aggression), simply run Client.exe and enter the IP address of the server you wish to access. If you wish to use your own server, you must first start the Server.exe and enter 127.0.0.1 as the IP in the client. Upon successful connection, the server window will say "new key".
5. How do I zone?
After running the Client.exe and successfully connecting to a server, you may simply cross any zone line to be transported to the server-specified zone. If this is your own server, or the server operator has not specified a zone, you will be transported to the default zone, Lower Jeuno. Currently, this is the only zone in which the client will properly place you (since the position is hardcoded). Other zones may or may not yield traversable placement. There are tools that will edit your position, however we do not and cannot provide them here.
To specify your zone manually, follow Tinytaru's directions:
o Open the included "zoneids.txt" and find the zone you wish to go to (it is recommended to open the file in Wordpad or any other word processing application other than Notepad).
o Type in "nextzone 0xZZ" in the pXI server window. Where "ZZ" is should be the number next to the name of the zone in "zoneids.txt."
o (While in-game and fully logged into FFXI) Go through ANY zone line.
o You should appear in the area you specified to the server. The command stays active till the server is given a command otherwise, so everyone on your server will continue zoning to the area you (the server administrator) specified till you input another command otherwise.
o (It should be noted that you usually end up beneath the ground when you zone into the area you wanted. At this time the only way to get back up onto ground is believed to be through a POS hack or something like that. This issue will be tackled in future releases.)
As Tinytaru notes, zoning can fail, resulting in a blank screen rather than a "Downloading Data..." screen. He also notes that /logout can cause one to disconnect rather than logout, although this does not seem to happen often.
6. How do I utilize multiple connections?
If you are running a server to which you've already successfully connected, simply have your friend specify your IP address in their client. Of course, firewalls and routers will interfere, so make sure you open port 3306. After a successful connection has been made, its nickname should show up in the server window, in which case you can both talk to each other via /tell! Further multiconnection aspects are being planned.
7. What is being planned?
Our current priorities for the next version of ProjectXI (0.4) are not decided. Previous goals from the last release were...
...to allow logging off and enable zoning. Priorities for subsequent versions include basic interactive objects (such as doors) as well as uninteractive multiplayer support (text and basic necessities for rendering another character only).
Long term goals include emulating monsters, single and multiplayer (party) engagement, and interactivity (NPCs, Auction House, Teleport crystals and other examineable spots). Missions and quests will likely be last to be implemented as they will probably need to be a community effort due to their sheer quantity. Basic quests such as advanced jobs may be implemented first, with other quests trickling in at a steady rate.

ya udah kalo ampm bener2 bisa coding dan buat program yang bisa emulasiin PlayOnline (ProjectXI gak bisa loh)
dan bisa bikin full world dari final fantasy xi bagus deh... walau yg gw tahu, sampe saat ini gak ada private server yg bener2 dicoding sendiri ama ampm, cuman ambil dari luar..... kalo beneran bisa tar gw coba main deh.....

Walaupun nanti ada monster dan Npcnya , tapi Skill2nya bkalan timbul Penyakit lama Private Server yaitu Bug Bug Bug Bug Bug Bug Bug ............ X1miliyar ::stretcher::. apa lagi proses sriptnya dimulai dari 0 besar tapek d! mendingan urus server wow biar skill dan talent berkurang bugnya dan yang pasti kudu wajib harus GPL!!! bisa BURNING CRUSADE ::clap:: ::clap::
