28 Februari 2007 - Pemanasan di Bumi dan Mars menunjukan bahwa perubahan iklim planet kita kini disebabkan oleh alam, bukan manusia, menurut Habibullo Abdussamatov, kepala Observatorium Astronomikal Pulkovo St. Petersburg di Rusia.

Bumi kini mengalami pemanasan cepat, dengan mayoritas ilmuwan menyatakan bahwa pemanasan ini diakibatkan oleh tingginya tingkat gas rumah kaca di atmosfir.

Mars juga mengalami pemanasan. Pemanasan di Mars menurut Abdussamatov, "adalah bukti bahwa pemanasan global di Bumi sekarang diakibatkan oleh perubahan pada matahari."

"Peningkatan jangka panjang pemancaran matahari memanaskan baik Bumi dan Mars," ujarnya.

Mars dan Bumi telah mengalami zaman es pada sejarah mereka. "Pemanasan rumah kaca akibat manusia memberikan sedikit kontribusi terhadap pemanasan Bumi, tetapi tidak sebanding dengan peningkatan pancaran Matahari," ujar Abdussamatov.

Dengan mempelajari ketidaktetapan suhu matahari, Abdussamatov percaya ia dapat melihat pola yang cocok terhadap iklim pada Bumi dan Mars.

Seluruh planet mengalami wobble karena melakukan perjalanan mengitari matahari. Wobble Bumi disebut siklus Milankovitch dan muncul antara setiap 20.000 sampai 100.000 tahun. Ketidaktetapan tersebut merubah poros Bumi dan jaraknya dari matahari dan diduga menyebabkan zaman es pada Bumi.

Abdussamatov juga menyatakan bahwa karbon dioksida hanya memberikan sedikit pengaruh terhadap iklim Bumi dan tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap Mars.

"Pemancaran matahari mulai berkurang pada tahun 1990-an, dan tingkat minimum akan tercapai kira-kira tahun 2040," menurut Abdussamatov. "Sehingga akan menyebabkan pendinginan iklim Bumi dalam waktu 15 sampai 20 tahun."

"Karya Abdussamatov tidak diterima dengan baik oleh ilmuwan lainnya."

Pemanasan Global di Yupiter

4 Mei 2006 - Terdapat bintik merah baru di Yupiter dan Teleskop Hubble sedang memotret kejadian tersebut.

Disebut "Red Spot Jr.", terbentuk setelah terjadinya tiga badai berbentuk oval berwarna putih-dua diantaranya berusia 90 tahun-bergabung antara tahun 1998 dan 2000.

Penelitian dilakukan oleh Imke de Pater dan Philip Marcus di Universitas California, Berkeley.

Pertumbuhan tersebut menandai peningkatan suhu sekitar 10 derajat Fahrenheit di wilayah tersebut.

28 Juni 1998 - Teleskop Hubble NASA dan beberapa alat lainnya menunjukan bahwa suhu bulan terbesar Neptunus meningkat. Permukaan Triton yang terdiri dari nitrogen beku berubah menjadi gas.

"Paling tidak sejak tahun 1989, Triton mengalami pemanasan global," menurut astronom James Elliot. Elliot dan koleganya dari Observatorium Lowell dan Williams College melaporkan penemuan mereka. Diperkirakan suhu Triton meningkat dari -392 sampai -389 derajat F.

Pemanasan Global di Pluto

9 Oktober 2002 - Astronom menyatakan Pluto mengalami pemanasan global meskipun Pluto terletak jauh dari Matahari. Tekanan atmosfir Pluto bertambah selama 14 tahun terakhir, menandai peningkatan suhu. Mereka menduga suhu permukaan rata-rata meningkat sekitar 3.5 derajat Fahrenheit atau 2 derajat Celcius.

Pluto tetap menjadi misteri yang rahasianya tidak mudah dijelaskan. Seorang astronom menduga pemanasan ini disebabkan oleh aktivitas eruptif.

Menurut gua, pemanasan global tetap disebabkan oleh manusia, dan mungkin sebaliknya, justru perubahan pada matahari yang sedikit menyumbang, sementara sebagian besar diakibatkan oleh manusia. Kalo matahari memang menyumbang besar, dan ditambah aktivitas manusia, pasti pemasan global sudah jauh lebih gila sekarang.

MIT researcher finds evidence of global warming on Neptune's largest moon

June 24, 1998

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- We're not the only ones experiencing global warming. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher has reported that observations obtained by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and ground-based instruments reveal that Neptune's largest moon, Triton, seems to have heated up significantly since the Voyager space probe visited it in 1989. The warming trend is causing part of Triton's surface of frozen nitrogen to turn into gas, thus making its thin atmosphere denser.

While no one is likely to plan a summer vacation on Triton, this report in the June 25 issue of the journal Nature by MIT astronomer James L. Elliot and his colleagues from MIT, Lowell Observatory and Williams College says that the moon is approaching an unusually warm summer season that only happens once every few hundred years. Elliot and his colleagues believe that Triton's warming trend could be driven by seasonal changes in the absorption of solar energy by its polar ice caps.

"At least since 1989, Triton has been undergoing a period of global warming. Percentage-wise, it's a very large increase," said Elliot, professor of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and director of the Wallace Astrophysical Observatory. The 5 percent increase on the absolute temperature scale from about minus-392 degrees Fahrenheit to about minus-389 degrees Fahrenheit would be like the Earth experiencing a jump of about 22 degrees Fahrenheit.

Triton is a simpler subject than Earth for studying the causes and effects of global warming. "It's generally true around the solar system that when we try to understand a problem as complex as global warming -- one in which we can't control the variables -- the more extreme cases we have to study, the more we can become sure of certain factors," Elliot said. "With Triton, we can clearly see the changes because of its simple, thin atmosphere."

The moon is approaching an extreme southern summer, a season that occurs every few hundred years. During this special time, the moon's southern hemisphere receives more direct sunlight. The equivalent on Earth would be having the sun directly overhead at noon north of Lake Superior during a northern summer.

Elliot and his colleagues believe that Triton's temperature has increased because of indications that the pressure of the atmosphere has increased. Because of the unusually strong correlation between Triton's surface ice temperature and its atmospheric pressure, Elliot said scientists can infer a temperature increase of 3 degrees Fahrenheit over nine years based on its recent increase in surface vapor pressure. Any ice on Triton that warms up a little results in a big increase in atmospheric pressure as the vaporized gas joins the atmosphere.

Scientists used one of the Hubble telescope's three Fine Guidance Sensors in November 1997 to measure Triton's atmospheric pressure when the moon passed in front of a star. Two of Hubble's guidance sensors are normally used to keep the telescope pointed at a celestial target by monitoring the brightness of guide stars. The third can serve as a scientific instrument.

In this case, the guidance sensor measured a star's gradual decrease in brightness as Triton passed in front of it. The starlight got dimmer as it traveled through Triton's thicker atmosphere and then got cut off completely by the moon's total occultation of the star. This filtering of starlight through an atmosphere is similar to what happens during a sunset. As the sun dips toward the horizon, its light dims because it is traveling through denser air and because the sun's disk gets "squashed."

By detecting that Triton's atmosphere had thickened, astronomers were able to deduce that the temperature of the ice on Triton's surface has increased. "This pressure increase implies a temperature increase," Elliot wrote. "At this rate, the atmosphere has at least doubled in bulk since the time of the Voyager encounter." Like the Earth, Triton's atmosphere is composed mostly of molecular nitrogen, but its surface pressure is much less than that of the Earth--about the same as that 45 miles high in the Earth's atmosphere.

In their Nature paper, Elliot and his colleagues list two other possible explanations for Triton's warmer weather. Because the frost pattern on Triton's surface may have changed over the years, it may be absorbing a little more of the sun's warmth. Or changes in reflectivity of Triton's ice may have caused it to absorb more heat. "When you're so cold, global warming is a welcome trend," said Elliot.

About the same size and density as Pluto, Triton--one of Neptune's eight moons--is 30 times as far from the sun as the Earth. It is very cold and windy, with winds close to the speed of sound, and has a mixed terrain of icy regions and bare spots. Triton is a bit smaller than our moon, but its gravity is able to keep an atmosphere from completely escaping because it is so cold. Its composition is believed to be similar to a comet's, although it is much larger than a comet. Triton was captured into a reverse orbit by Neptune's strong gravitational pull.

McConnochie of Williams College.

Is global warming solar induced?

There is some news making the rounds that Earth is not the only planet experiencing global warming. Mars, for example, possibly appears to be getting a bit warmer, as are Jupiter, Neptune’s moon Triton, and even Pluto.

Could this mean that global warming is caused by the Sun and not man’s pollution?

I am certainly seeing global warming deniers and others taking this information and running with it (like here, for example, or here, and on Benny Peiser’s CCNet on March 7, 2007, though I don’t have a link for that). However, let’s take a skeptical approach shall we?

First off, I want to make a very big point here: the changes in the Earth due to global warming, while real, are somewhat subtle. Yet the Earth gets most of its heat from the Sun, so if the Sun were the cause, we’d expect the effects of warming to be much stronger on Earth than any outer planets. So any really strong signal of global warming on outer planets like Jupiter or especially Pluto, if real, are very unlikely to be due to the Sun.

Second, what I am seeing in these arguments is a very dangerous practice called "cherry picking"; selectively picking out data that support your argument and ignoring contrary evidence. It certainly looks interesting that Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Triton, and Pluto are warming, and if that’s all you heard then it seems logical to think maybe the Sun is the cause. But they aren’t the only objects in the solar system. What about Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Uranus… and if you include Triton to support your case, you’d better also take a good look at the nearly 100 other sizable moons in the solar system. Are they warming too?

I have heard nothing about them in these arguments, and I suspect it’s because there’s not much to say. If they are not warming, then deniers won’t mention them, and scientists won’t report it because there is nothing to report ("News flash: Phobos still the same temperature!" is unlikely to get into Planetary Science journals). However, I can’t say that with conviction, because the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Any planetary scientists reading this blog entry, please contact me. I’m interested in hearing more.

Third, if you actually read the articles about the specific cases of planetary warming to which I linked above, you see that they all have separate explanations:

* First off, is Mars even warming globally at all? Perhaps not — it might be a local effect. And if it is global, there already is an idea of why that might be happening: it would be due to periodic changes in its orbit, called Milankovitch cycles. The Earth has them too, and they do affect our climate. And the guy who is proposing that the Sun is warming Mars doesn’t think CO2 is a greenhouse gas. I think his science is a little suspect. His reasoning is certainly specious– he says if Mars and Earth are both warming, it must be due to the Sun. As I point out above, that is clearly not necessarily the case. Even if this martian warming turns out to be true, it may just be a natural effect of the shape of the orbit of Mars.

* The evidence for Jupiter’s global warming is nothing of the sort. It is evidence that there are warm spots, with storms rising to the tops of the clouds. This may just be a local effect, and not global. Jupiter’s atmosphere is fiendishly complex, and not well understood. If you’ve ever looked at the planet through a telescope, you can clearly see thick horizontal bands across the disk; these are enormous wind patterns that dwarf the Earth. A few years ago, one of the dark bands disappeared completely. For reasons unknown to this day, it sank a bit in the atmosphere, and opaque clouds covered it up. I saw it many times through my ’scope, and it was bizarre. Then, after a while, it reappeared, just like that. My point: any claims about Jupiter’s atmosphere when it comes to global warming must be approached very carefully. We don’t understand the dynamics of that system.

Also, Jupiter’s atmospheric physics is dominated by the internal heat of the planet, and not by the heat from the Sun. So even if the Sun did heat up somehow, the effect on Jupiter would probably be a lot less dramatic than here on Earth.

* With Triton, Neptune’s moon, it says in the very article quoted that Triton is approaching an extreme summer season, due to the tilt of its orbit. This happens every few centuries. So the Sun can be constantly chugging away, and Triton would warm up anyhow. Mind you, Neptune’s orbit is 165 years long, so we haven’t even observed it for a full orbit since the invention of modern detectors capable of giving us good data. Therefore it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish between factors like the Sun warming up Triton anomalously, or just the usual changes in the moon due to seasons.

* As for tiny Pluto, its dynamics are very poorly understood. What we do see is that its atmosphere appears to be thicker than expected right now. Pluto doesn’t have much of an air blanket, and it changes over the course of Pluto’s orbit as the tiny iceball approaches and recedes from the Sun. Pluto reached perihelion, the closest point in its orbit to the Sun, in 1989, and is slowly drawing away again. You might think its atmosphere would start freezing out, getting thinner. But that’s not happening; it’s getting quite a bit thicker.

However, this is not totally unexpected. Changes are not instantaneous, and it may take a while for things to thaw. It’s possible that only now are gases frozen on Pluto’s surface starting to evaporate. It’s a weird planet, tipped way over (Earth is tilted 23 degrees, while Pluto is canted at 122), and the orbit is highly elliptical and tilted, too. You expect weird stuff from it, and a delay in the thawing is not all that surprising.

Plus, let’s think about this: Pluto is more than 30 times farther away from the Sun than the Earth is. If the Sun were warming up enough to affect Pluto at that vast distance, it would blowtorch the Earth. If the effects of Earth’s global warming are subtle enough to argue about at all, then it’s safe to assume the changes on Pluto are completely irrelevant to the argument.

So where does that leave us? When I look at all of this, I see a handful of the 100 large solar system bodies showing some evidence of local warming (Jupiter’s spot), some evidence of systemic warming with known causes that are a lot more likely than the Sun heating up (like well-understood orbital variations), and some evidence that any warming experienced by these bodies is possibly being exaggerated in the reporting.

I also see cherry-picking, with no mention of the other planets and moons in the solar system.

And what of the Sun? Is it possible that the Earth’s warming is caused by our nearest star?

Of course it’s possible. There are links to the Sun’s behavior and Earth’s climate (look up the Maunder minimum for some interesting reading), and it would be foolish to simply deny this. However, this is a vastly complex and difficult system to understand, and simply claiming "Yes it’s due to the Sun" or "No it’s not due to the Sun" is certainly naive.

But we do have some facts:

* The Earth is getting warmer.

* We are dumping more CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

* A little greenhouse effect is a good thing (otherwise the average temperature of the Earth would be below the freezing point of water). Too much, however, is Venus.

* Some of this global warming is due to human causes. This is fact. The question is, how much?

* There are political and ideological ramifications of global warming, and a lot of people — politicians, in fact — have a lot at stake and are known to twist science to meet their needs.

With all of these facts lined up, it’s clear that the one thing we need to do is be very, very careful when someone comes in and makes a broad, sweeping statement about global warming’s cause, especially when they have ulterior motives for saying what they do. This may sound like an ad hominem, but we have seen, over and over, how science gets abused these past few years by those in power. A jaundiced eye is critical in science, and a little skepticism — or in this case, a lot — is a good thing.

Large seasonal and hemispheric asymmetries in the martian climate system are generally ascribed to variations in solar heating associated with orbital eccentricity1. As the orbital elements slowly change (over a period of >104 years), characteristics of the climate such as dustiness and the vigour of atmospheric circulation are thought to vary2, 3, 4, 5, as should asymmetries in the climate (for example, the deposition of water ice at the northern versus the southern pole). Such orbitally driven climate change might be responsible for the observed layering in Mars' polar deposits by modulating deposition of dust and water ice3, 5, 6. Most current theories assume that climate asymmetries completely reverse as the angular distance between equinox and perihelion changes by 180°. Here we describe a major climate mechanism that will not precess in this way. We show that Mars' global north–south elevation difference forces a dominant southern summer Hadley circulation that is independent of perihelion timing. The Hadley circulation, a tropical overturning cell responsible for trade winds, largely controls interhemispheric transport of water and the bulk dustiness of the atmosphere7, 8, 9, 10, 11. The topography therefore imprints a strong handedness on climate, with water ice and the active formation of polar layered deposits more likely in the north.

Klo stau gw Urusan kanker akibat ultraviolet itu bukan karena global warming tapi karena pelindungnya bumi (atmosfer) sudah berlubang salah satunya Ozon
Ozon itu akan pecah setelah menerima Radiasi matahari tapi akan saling membentuk Ozon baru sehingga siklus pun terjadi. Akan tetapi siklus ini di interupsi oleh gas yg seharusnya tidak ada di sana misalnya aja yg simple CO. Pecahan ozon akan lebih senang untuk membentuk ikatan CO2 daripada ozon yg baru sehingga lapisan pelindung atmosfer menjadi tipis dan akhirnya berlubang hal ini menyebaabkan sinar sinar berbahaya bisa masuk.

IMHO ... pemanasan global itu merupakan suatu bagian siklus dari suatu planet yang akan diakhiri oleh pendinginan global seperti yang terjadi pada bumi jaman dulu (bukan yang disebabkan oleh meteor)

kalau pemanasan global yang saat ini sih mungkin sebagian besar disebabkan oleh manusia, karena sudah terbukti bahwa lapisan ozon itu tidak bisa recover dengan sendirinya dalam waktu yang cepat sehingga memungkinkan radiasi kosmik dan matahari bisa masuk dengan intensitas penuh. selain itu gas CO2 yang membentuk efek rumah kaca juga memegang andil besar dalam pemanasan global akibat perbuatan manusia.

Recent satellite observations have detected a thinning of parts of the Greenland ice sheet at lower elevations. A partial melting of this ice sheet would cause a 1-meter (3-foot) rise. Mengapa tidak? Dalam hal ini pemanasan global kan meningkatnya suhu sebuah planet. Jadi, semua dapat terjadi meskipun penyebabya berbeda-beda. Contoh pada planet Jupiter, terbentuk satu lagi bintik merah atau para ahli menyebutnya Red Spot.Jr. Nah, terbentuknya Red Spot.Jr. ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan suhu pada permukaan planet Jupiter, bintik merah itu menunjukkan bahwa adanya suatu proses pengorekan material di bawah awan yang menyelubungi Jupiter dan material itu berpotensi menyerap panas dari Ultraviolet dan bereaksi secara kimia. Dari penginderaan terakhir menunjukkan bahwa permukaan Jupiter mengalami kenaikan suhu sebanyak 10 derajat Farenheit.

Dipercaya bahwa siklus pergantian suhu secara global di mulai dari bintik merah besar (Great Red Spot) yang sitemukan pada tahun 1939. Perputaran panas bergerak dari ekuator Jupiter ke Kutub Selatan Jupiter, dan diperkirakan siklus akan berhenti pada tempat Red Spot.Jr terbentuk dan akan dimulai lagi (karena ini siklus).

Begitu juga pada planet lain, Mars bahkan bulan Saturnus, Enceladus, juga mengalami pemanasan. Terdapat berbagai faktor penyebab tergantung pada komposisi planet tersebut. Contohnya pada Enceladus, ada beberapa hipotesa mengenai pemanasan yang terjadi di bulan Saturnus itu. Bahkan yang mengejutkan, terjadi sebuah tetesan air pada kutub Enceladus. Sehingga seolah-olah partikel ini terlempar keluar angkasa.

Seperti Bumi juga, emisi gas yang menyerap panas matahari menyebabkan Bumi menjadi panas. Juga tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa dampak yang terjadi di planet lain tidak beda jauh dari dampak pemanasan global di Bumi. Bagi planet-planet yang memiliki kutub-kutub es, dimungkinkan kutub es tersebut akan mencair.

Kesimpulannya, pemanasan global juga terjadi di planet lain, namun seberapa jauh pemanasan tersebut mambawa efek buat Bumi kita ini, para ahli masih menyelidikinya. Tentang faktor-faktor yang menyebabkannya bervariasi, bergantung pada atmosfir planet itu sendiri, struktur udara, zat yang terkandung pada udara, dan kutub-kutub. Lokasi yang jauh dan eksplorasi lebih jauh akan sangat dibutuhkan agar bisa tahu lebih lanjut tentang dampak bagi planet itu sendiri dan bagi planet lain. Toh, pada dasarnya semua benda itu diciptakan dalam bentuk stabil sesuai fitrahnya. Siapa tahu pemanasan global itu hanya merupakan siklus yang pasti terjadi berulang-ulang baik di Bumi dan di planet lain?

Yah itu model yg lu berikan adalah model yg dipakai buat film The Day AFter Tmrw... dah nyebar kmn2.

Prediksi nya adalah bahwa northern hemisphere akan beku karena terjadinya disalinasi air laut Atlantic yang menyebabkan kenaikan air laut di Atlantic ocean sehingga North Atlantic Current berubah, menyebabkan Ice Age II.

Kalau anda lihat, sistem north atlantic current berbeda dengan Indian + Pacific sistem.
