Shino-Reijutsuin - The Japanese term for Central Spirit Academy.

Shinsou ("Divine Spear") - Gin Ichimaru’s Zanpaku.

Shinten - An anesthetic used by the Shinigami in the 4th Division of the Gotei 13. It is potent enough to knock out lesser Shinigami with a single drop.

Shunkou - An esoteric attack first developed by Yoruichi Shihouin that compresses waves of Kidou onto a person's back, arms, and legs in a single explosive moment. The additional support on a person's frame allows for high-speed, high-powered attacks as well as access to the unique Hanki technique.

Shunshin ("God of Flash") - The title given to the fastest person in all of Soul Society. Currently, it is held by Yoruichi Shihouin, the former commanding officer of the Keigun and the head of the Noble House of Shihouin.

Shuukei: Hakuteiken ("Final Scene: White Emperor’s Sword") - The final Bankai form of Senbonzakura. Completing the compression begun in Senkei, this form consolidates all of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi's petals into a single weapon for the purposes of a final one-shot attack.

Shunpo (Flash Step) - A technique used by advanced Shinigami that allows one's self to travel considerable distances in short amounts of time.

Sodeno Shirayuki ("White Snow's Sleeve") - Rukia Kuchiki's Zanpaku.

Sougyo no Kotowari ("Truth of Twin Fish") - Juushirou Ukitake’s Zanpaku. Along with Katen Kyoukatsu, these two Zanpaku are the only ones in the history of Soul Society to come in set pairs.

Soukyoku ("Dual Terminus") - A massive Zanpaku reputed to be the equal of one million lesser Zanpaku. When unsealed, it's powers magnify several times beyond that and is used only to completely annhilate those convicted of capital crimes against Soul Society. It materializes as a huge phoenix and seems to be capable of being unsealed only through the efforts of several specialized Shinigami.

Soul Burial - See Konsou.

Soul Candy - See Gikongan.

Soul Society - The home plane of Konpaku that have undergone Konsou as well as the Shinigami. It is divided into two main areas: Rukongai, where the vast majority of souls live, and Seireitei, where the enclosed city that the Shinigami call home.

Spiritron - The building block of matter in the spiritual world.

Suzumebachi ("Hornet") - Soi Fong’s Zanpaku.

Suzumushi ("Pure Insect") - Kaname Tousen’s Zanpaku. It was originally passed down to him from a former love after she passed away.

Taichou - The Japanese term for Captain.

Tengen ("Heaven’s Punishment") - Sajin Komamura’s Zanpaku.

Tensa Zangetsu ("Heavenly Chain Cutting Moon")- The Bankai form of Zangetsu.

Tenshintai - A mannequin-like device utilized by Kisuke Urahara to forcibly materialize his Zanpaku's spirit in order to develop his three-day Bankai training method.

Tentouken - A Shihouin artifact that is provided to Ichigo by Yoruichi that enables him to fly.

Tirjeta ("Five Scissor Insect") - The Zanpaku of the 11th Arrancar, Shawlong-Kuufan.

Tobiume ("Flying Plum") - Momo Hinamori’s Zanpaku.

Tsunzakigarasu ("Splitting Crow") - Jiroubou Ikkanzaka’s Zanpaku. It remains forever damaged and unusable after Jiroubou’s powers were sealed in a brawl with the Quincy, Uryuu Ishida.

Urahara Shoten (Urahara Shop) - A small store specializing in trafficked merchandise from Soul Society. It is also the base of operations for Urahara Kisuke's various efforts in the living world and houses an enormous training area below ground.

Vaizard - A Shinigami that has used forbidden methods to gain a Hollow's mask and powers. They are collectively known as a criminal force to the Shinigami of Soul Society.

Vasto lorde - The most humanoid and deadly variety of Menos. Each one of these Hollows' strength exceeds that of the average Captain-level Shinigami and can cause massive amounts of devastations which dwarf that of its less evolved cousins. They are widely believed to be present only within Hueco Mundo.

Volcanica ([i]"Fire Beast"[/b]) - The Zanpaku of the 13th Arrancar, Edorado-Leones.

Wabisuke ("Apology") - Izuru Kira’s Zanpaku.

Zabimaru ("Serpent Tail") - Renji Abarai’s Zanpaku. Materialized visually as a large stark white baboon with a snake taking the place of its tail. Both animals are conscious and able to communicate with Renji, but are one and the same. It seems to be very battle hardened and eager to fight, as the way Renji used to be preceding his second confrontation with Ichigo.

Zangetsu ("Cutting Moon") - Ichigo Kurosaki’s second Zanpaku. Materialized visually as a tall and thin middle-aged man that sports both shoulder length hair and facial hair as well as full on tinted shades and a black, almost cloak-like, coat. Its mannerisms towards Ichigo seem to be a bit cold at first glance, but it is in fact quite sympathetic with the boy’s plights and actively seeks to lend him his power in battle.

Zanpaku spirit - A fully sentient being that can be housed inside of a Zanpaku. Originating from the soul of a Shinigami, they are a separate embodiment of their owner's powers, but are simultaneously part of the same individual. Depending on the relationship a Shinigami has with its Zanpaku spirit, varying levels and qualities of Shikai and Bankai can be expressed in battle.

Zanpakutou ("Soul Cutting Sword") - The proper term for the primary weapon a Shinigami has at his or her disposal. While one looks like an ordinary katana when sheathed and initially drawn, Zanpakutou actually have two more forms other than this default sealed configuration. In order to use transcend the sealed state of a Zanpakutou however, a Shinigami must first establish a firm trust with the spirit inside of the sword and learn its name for use in commands. The initial release, or Shikai, of a Zanpakutou reveals the sword’s true shape for battle and allows the Shinigami wielding it to call on a variety of support abilities to aid in battle. A Zanpakutou’s second and final release, known as Bankai, fully liberates the Zanpaku’s spirit from its host blade and allows it to manifest directly outside of it. In this form, a Shinigami can optimum use of both his/her and the Zanpaku’s combined spiritual energy in the form of various devastating abilities.

eliel Tu Oderschvank, otherwise known as Nel Tu[3] (ネル・トゥ, Neru Tu?), is a good-natured, child-like arrancar when first introduced. The remains of her hollow mask make up a cartoonish skull on the top of her head. Nel's appearance is in stark contrast to her vocabulary, which contains a number of bizarre phrases and words one wouldn't expect such a small child to know, such as referring to herself as a masochist. Ichigo assumes her hollow companions are responsible for this. Nel and her companions also represent oddities among hollows. Though most hollows are evil, Nel actually fears shinigami, assuming they are in fact the evil ones. In spite of this, she develops an attachment to Ichigo and follows him into Las Noches.

Nel's true form is that of a fully-grown woman with longer hair but otherwise similar features. Her skull mask changes slightly, its features appearing less cartoonish with a pair of curved horns. A large "3" tattooed on her back indicates that she was previously the 3rd Espada.[4] She was expelled from Las Noches by Nnoitra Jiruga after a sneak attack by him and Szayel Aporro Granz caused her to revert to her child-form and gave her amnesia. Because of her amnesia, she is initially doubtful when Nnoitra identifies her as a former Espada, but when he begins harming Ichigo, Nel's concern causes her to spontaneously transform into her previous form. Although having grown up physically, she still seems to have her child-like affection over Ichigo, as she suddenly hugs after attacking Nnoitra without realizing that Ichigo was losing consciousness. She reverts back to her child form, with no apparent memory of what had just occurred, before she can defeat Nnoitra and is left at his mercy.

Nel's initial ability is the power to swallow enemy attacks and fire them back with powerful force, indicated by the eyes on her skull mask glowing.[5] Her vomit (which she believes to be saliva) also acts as a powerful healing agent. In her adult form, Nel's speed and strength are greatly increased, and her attack absorption ability is much easier for her to use. According to Nnoitra, Nel's trademark is to absorb an incoming cero by swallowing it, and fire one of her own while returning it, thus creating a "Cero Doble" (with doble meaning double in Spanish).[6]

Nel's zanpakutō, which manifests when she transforms, is named Gamuza (羚騎士（ガミューサ）, Gamyūsa?, Spanish for "chamois," Japanese for "antelope knight") with a green sheath and hilt shaped like two crescent moons back-to-back. Its release command is "declare" (謳え, utae?).[7] Her released form is that of a ibex-like centaur with longer curved horns, a thick tail, and armor over her shoulders and hands. Her sword transforms into a double-ended lance, giving her the appearance of a medieval knight or jouster. One of her attacks is called Lanzador Verde (Spanish for "green thrower" or "green spearman"), in which she throws her lance directly at her opponent. The lance moves at high speed and rotates extremely fast, drilling through anything it hits.

Arrancar

An Arrancar is a hollow that has removed its mask to gain Shinigami powers. The transformation is a extremely exclusive & a very unique process. Only a few hollows have the ability to remove their mask and even those who are successful aren't as powerful as those created artificially by Aizen's Hougyoku (Hougyoku is sphere/device that can remove the limitations of a spiritual entity). When a hollow has taking off its mask and transforms into an arrancar is known as shinigamification. The location of a arrancar's holes are differnt than those of a hollow and they only have a small piece of there mask remaining. Arrancar that where originally a vasto lord become the most powerful and guaranteed a humanoid form. If powerful enough, an arrancar can seal his or her excess power into the form of a zanpakuto. An arrancar release/bankai is called resurrection. Because their powers are sealed in their zanpakuto, an arrancar's bankai will usually transform some or all of their body back into whatever their original hollow forms were, allowing them to use their original abilities. Arrancar normally only return to their human form when they reseal their hollow powers; doing so without resealing, though possible, is a permanent change comparable to amputating a limb. The reason arrancar go through such trouble to seal their power is twofold: it allows them to maintain human form and conserve their power in times of inactivity...


espada

Espada are the "Elite" arrancar composed of the top ten arrancar hand picked by Aizen based on their combat skill. Each Espada is assigned a number of 1 to 10 based on the level, this number is tattooed on their body. They are given special privileges, like ordering lower-ranked Arrancar around. There is a significant gap in power between the Espada and the other ranks.
