I actually just knew the correct spelling is Pronunciation, not Pronounciation.
My bad.. At least I learned something from this thread.

Oh, for good pronou-- i mean pronunciation, (lol) it'll be much more easier if practiced with a native speaker. Eventhough you know the correct pronunciaton, but if practiced with the Indonesian-English speakers, it doesn't bring much impact i guess.
    Well, ractice makes perfect... :sweet:

    Default Some question

    Uh...I want to ask.

Native speakers often say [of] in a sentence as [ae] and the second way to say the word is to combine the consonant and vowel. (for example I have a glass of milk)

how can we differ the two of them?

You can easily pronounce "Can't" by adding something like "t" at the end when you pronounce the word.
Or you can go with the British style, and say can't as "KANT!"

Hmm I’ll try to give you their phonetic symbol in order to make you understand. This is really based on my own experience. I tried to recall what my lecturer taught me in the past few semesters.

For the word “can” the pronunciation is /kæn/. The word is pronounced like cat/kæt/.

However, for “can’t” you can either pronounce it /kant/ or /kænt/. But I prefer pronouncing it /kant/ to /kænt/.

And for the last word, Metamorphosis, here is the phonetic symbol:

/metamorƒosIs/. The phonem ‘I’ is spelled like in “fish” (it is quite hard to explain it here, since pronunciation is most likely a matter of practice, try to figure it yourself )

as we all know, English have many kinds of pronunciation.

    which one do you prefer?
as for me I prefers to speak in Irish/British accent.
