June “Lyn” Park has seen chance to defend his MGC title as the committee unveiled plans for MGC2008 finals.

Though the committee has not stated precise date of the event, the event is expected to be held somtime in November in Wuhan, China, which has been the host city for various e-Sports events earlier this year.

MGC2008 finals will feature Warcraft III tournament as usual with $15,300 in the prize purse and, on top of that, it will also feature DotA tournament with $9,470 this year.

The prize distribution for these two tournaments is as follows:

Warcraft III tournament:

First place - $10,200
Second place - $3,643
Third place - $1,457

DotA tournament:

First place - $4,370
Second place - $2,914
Third place - $1,457
Fourth place - $728

Compared to its predecessor, which was invite-only, the upcoming event will host online and offline qualifiers for the finals aside from auto berths given to first-rate players and teams.
