karena lagi ada e-drama besar di komunitas dota karena merger ini, gw mo kasih bbrp post dari Maelk, Zenition (mantan Met, salah satu pendiri yg udah retired), smiske dan misery sendiri...

Don't get me wrong, misery is a great player indeed, and I can understand why some people are confused about why Ravens decided to boot him. From the eyes of someone who has been on the inside of this team, it was a very logical move.

My biggest question however, is how they will divide the resposibilities on the team, who will make the decisions? Will Maelk be taking a break from his 4 year long role as a team captain, or will it be more of a democracy, the way Ravens have worked for a while now?

Personally the thing I'm looking most forward to is seeing miGGel and MaNia on the same team, two such aggressive players/gankers on the same team will be a joy.

"Alright Maelk, you're right. But I don't see any news on why they kicked Misery?".

Hey friend, You're right. So why don't I take some time and explain it to you, the way I had it explained from my new teammates myself?

"That would be ever so sweet of you, Maelk, please do!"

Okay friends, I will tell you the tale of how the AngeLs put the Ravens out of their Misery.

For those who did not know, both AngeL and miGGel has been not only friends of MYM for a long time, but also potential members for the team. Around November/December '08, both of them were prospects, and AngeL was actually suppose to join MYM the day after Dreamhackm, had a little force majeure known as PlaymatE not joined up with the team as a last minute stand in.

Time went by and little did we actually play together during the first months of the year, but as soon as the ENC was announced, we all started playing together again, eying an opportunity to finally try out our potential together without having to part ways with our respective teams. We then spend the next weeks more or less playing every day of the week, enjoying ourselves and playing with such success that all could not help but wonder how things would have worked out, had we been on a team together.

During this past week, what would turn out to be the last of the MYM team as we knew it, the Kingdom-team came to the conclusion that shutting down would be better than continuing. That same night, it would dawn upon the players of the new Ravens lineup, that this was their chance to finally get to play together.

While half of the dream was available and without an organization, the other half was in a team more successful than ever within an organization they were very pleased with. A problem arose.

"No problem, we will have to wait" said the ever so patient Maelk to his future comrades, but was immediately interrupted by the foreseeing MaNia: "But what about DTS-CUP? It is in less than a month!" expressing urgency with a tad of desperation in his voice. Another problem arose.

AngeL, fearing that his teenage-dream (playing with Maelk) was about to be shattered by something as tedious as time, firmly declared that he would find a solution: "I will find a solution".

The group discussed the issues at hand long into the night, and the Ravens-players informed the former [K]-players about their current situation and explained why the merger would be an awesome idea rather than not.

As it turned out, their German player, also known as moods, had no desire to go to Ukraine with the team and had declared that he would prefer to stay home. An opening occurred.

Furthermore the team despite their recent grandeur, had its problems. As it had been seen so many times before, it turned out that their star player, the lead singer, their quarterback, the man-with-the-plan, was a major liability when coming to chemistry and managing his temper.

The community had often witnessed his outbursts in the past, but it wasn't only the enemies that would suffer from his foul mouth.

It wouldn't take the highly intelligent Maelk to put two and two together and realize that he was dealing with players with a fragile state of mind. They have been suppressed for a long time and it had not been difficult for Misery to take advantage of their submissiveness. He would have to step cautiously, putting much thought into every word. As Maelk wandered off in his thoughts, PusHer continued the conversation: "Is he a whiner?" showing no poise.

The Ravens player AngeL replied that he for a long time had been dissatisfied with his relationship to Misery and how he acted on Ventrilo when in times of trouble (read: dying in game). miGGel nodded*, acknowledging the problem.

As time was of the essence, there was no time for the normal etiquette when dealing with the dismissal of a player, and manners would have to be put aside. If the new lineup was to go to Ukraine, it would have to be finalized and announced as soon as humanly possible.

Over night, the Ravens players spoke to their organization and informed their now former teammates of their wishes and decision for the future and the rest is history.

    The end... of the beginning.

*A nod on Ventrilo is either the verbal sound [Mmhh] or simply put the world also known as "Yes" pronounced [Jæs]).

"But Maelk, what would the right etiquette have been by Ravens, had they not been pressed on time?"

That, my friend, is a good question.

Normally they would have taken the time to sit down and explain to Misery why they had come to this conclusion and that they ultimately felt that there were betters ways for them to work than together with him, and that parting ways would have to be the consequence of this.

This would have to be done in due time before announcing any new players in order for them not to be shunned by the community as well as keeping their friendship with Misery intact.

"Maelk, weren't they simply waiting for something better to come along?"

No friend, I wouldn't put it that way. Timing would have it that the MYM-team split up the exact time as the new constellation of Ravens-players were practicing together constantly and thus granted them an opportunity they couldn't afford not taking.

    "Can I have your autograph?"

Yes friend, if you approach me on LAN with a smile on your face I'll be happy to scribble down my signature!

Most of your people are flaming the team for kicking misery, when you don't know half of the story. I didn't want to say this because I think misery is a great player and he doesn't deserve bad publicity, but after the interview he did on fragster and the way he brought this into a public discussion, rather than something to be dealt with behind closed doors, have left me sitting here with contempt, wanting to tell just how bad it was. Now granted I didn't play with Ravens since they became ravens, and I didn't play on the old Met team for almost half a year now. However, I was one of the "leaders" when miseRy first joined (Met was always more of a democracy, we did things together, made decisions together, but some people had more leader-type roles).

Misery was bad morale in all the essence of the word, besides being a great dota player, he never really had a place on the team (read: back then). Given what I know from back then, and knowing the core of the old Met/Ravens team, I'm telling you, it can hardly come as a shock to misery that his attitude, and therefore himself, was looked poorly upon/disliked amongst the other team members.

Now I don't want to draw any references to any of the existing players on Ravens, because there is none really, other than me standing up for them, because I feel alot of what is being said, is very unfair.

Here's why he wasn't kicked back when he was still new to the clan, cause alot of people will be asking this very valid question "If he was always bad for morale, why keep him in a team for so long?" - for one, the Danish dota scene is very narrow (also why they started looking internationally in the end, even though the dream had always been to keep the team national). For another, he was a fucking great player, and people want to believe that other people can change, that the whine and flaming would eventually stop. But given this recent turn of events, I can't help but think "okay, so it didn't stop."

Given the way misery writes and answers on questions regarding this matter, from the eyes of someone who has been backstage of this show, I think it's pretty clear that misery knows why things turned out the way they did.

Besides not liking his attitude, I do indeed wish all the best of things for misery, he is a great player, and I'd hate to see that go down the sink because he can't change this attitude. I hope he finds a great team and makes it work, whether it's muting his outbound voice communication or generally just maturing.

As I said in the beginning, I did not want to make this into a misery-bash, because god knows, that's not quite fair in light of recent events. But as alot of people (including himself) are making him out to be a martyr, that he was let down by his very own friends, _for no reason at all_ I think people deserved to hear this.

Again, I can't say with 100% safety that this was the reasoning behind the decision, but I can't see how it could not be.

Why did i not write to misery at the same point?.

Cause angel miggel and i allrdy talked about how to bring the bad news to misery. And we agreed to doo it together.

The problem came then when Fragster brought out the news before we did. i might have been mistaking bringing the news to moods and kwom that early when we where not ready to bring it to misery.¨

but after misery went to fragster before going to us. it was kinda all the same to us what we where trying to avoid ( The unproffesionalism) had allready happened.

what happened was that some guy cut a cable in angels backyard and hes internet was down the entire evening.

So the plan was offcourse to try to talk with him. Tell him why we are doing this to him. But since the media (Fragster) got there first. This all got very ugly instead of being a Slightly more clean break up.

Misery is to me a Great player and a great loss for the team.
    He will be missed.

    Best regards Smiske

I might even go as far as saying, I think his former allies went about this in the wrong way, but it was already too late as soon as fragster got a hold of it, so it wasn't like they ever got any chance to do so apart from those few hours in the afternoon and evening, before the news was out.

Ultimately the reason for all this to happen was a combination of moods telling everyone about it and the fact that Smiske wasn't near his computer when Misery responded to his message (or vice versa).

    bonus: interview dg playmate:
    http://www.dota-vip.com/index.php?op...&catid=57:news

Hello PlaymatE, yesterday the disbandment of Kingdom.DotA was published however you were not mentioned, how come?

I left the clan few days before they disbanded because of internal disagreements.

People said that you didn't play much with the team after you became Kingdom.DotA, was the reasons the internal disagreements? If yes, what were the conflicts about?

I played the last few clanwars with the team of Kingdom.DotA which we lost due to these internal disagreements, hence the leaving. Mostly it was because I felt like I wasn't being heard.

Can you concretely give examples of what it was you weren't being heard about?

Was as Maelk already mentioned regarding picks that these internal disagreements concerned. When i asked for a hero i wanted to play i was given something I'd prefer not to touch. This new version caused to many innovative strats the captain wanted to try out but with different inputs from several players which mixed up the picks and lost its synergy.

Is there hard feelings left between you and your old teammates?

I don't know since that's a two-way street, but i have no hard feelings, i enjoyed the ride and I left in peace.

Now that you are clan-less, what will your next move be, will you return to your former clan or join another one?

I haven't really thought about it but i guess if some worthy offer shows its face, you might see me again

Okay, any shout outs or final words?

Thx to my ex-mates, the ride has been great as long as it lasted. Good luck in the future, maybe this will lead to something bigger and better for the community of DotA. Peeeeeeeeeez

Thanks for the updates and insight!
