DOTA: INTERVIEW WITH OS|ONE.XE1FER
"We reached our goal!"

They came out of nowhere, scored and took home the trophy. Talking about Os|One, they had a long way from Kazakhstan to the DTS-Cup in the Ukraine, managed to beat several top teams and in the end they won the whole tournament. Now Os|One´s star player xe1feR sat down with fragster for an interview and talked about the last weekend, their team and their future plans.

fragster: As nearly noone in the DotA scene knew you before this weekend, can you introduce yourself?

Arsen 'xe1feR' Maybasarov: Hello, my name is Arsen. This summer im turning 18. I like to play football with my friends, chill around and of course play DotA.

How long do you play in Os|One?

xe1feR: Our clan was established quite recently. We are playing with the current line-up for about three months now.

How does it feel to win such a big tournament and what can you else tell us about the last weekend?

xe1feR: I am very happy. To be honest, we did not expect such a victory. Pf course we expected something less successful but with the help of our supporters and our confidence in victory it became possible to do the impossible. We have reached our goal. The last days were especially wonderful. When we arrived in our homeland our supporters were waiting for us. It was just awesome.

When did you decide to take part in DTS-Cup?

xe1feR: About a month ago OSPL - Spring was announced, which served as a qualifier of DTS-Cup, so we decided to register. However there are many good teams in Kazakhstan at the moment, such as OSPL and Team Rush. In the final match we had to play against OSPL and it had to be pretty difficult. However we have won two games and went to the DTS-cup. We were confident that we would become Top 1 in Kazakhstan for 70-80 %.

What about the DotA scene in Kazakhstan?

xe1feR: DotA in Kazakhstan is very popular. We have a lot of tournaments and good players. Kazakhstan DotA community is developing very fast.

How did you prepare yourself for the tournament and how were the training conditions?

xe1feR: We had a very short amount of time available to us since we had to go to Ukraine. I think during the qualifiers we had a very good preparation. Just before the departure we have gathered in the internet cafe and played for 2-3 days. The conditions were good, everything was amazing. Basically we trained for 2-3 days and went to Ukraine.

What about sponsors? Who did pay for the trip to Ukraine?

xe1feR: Our sponsor has paid the trip completely, because it came together with the prize money in Kazakhstan qualifiers.

How was it to beat such a big name as Ravens?

xe1feR: After our victory over ravens in the group stage we became more confident. In playoffs our confidence gained even more strength. We played against teams like Ravens, myrUA or 1d and after the victories over them we became more solid as a team and now we look forward into more challenges.

Are you going to attend more Lan events in future or even online tournaments?

xe1feR: We hope that we are able to register in all online events in future and will try to participate in all upcoming Lan-tourneys. In every event that we are going to attend, we will try to do our best.

Where would you rank Os|One in world wide DotA?

xe1feR: I hope it our team could be somewhere in Top 3-5.

Some other players recently stated that you would have an impressive teamplay but only one strategy. What do you reply on that?

xe1feR: They are right. We had a brilliant strategy and we played it with the efficieny of 100 %. With the help of this tactic we were able to win against all the teams. Why can't we use just one strategy and win the DTS-CUP? Huh?

Who organised the party back in Kazakhstan and payed for the limousine?

xe1feR: (Laughs) Our friends and maybe our fans - no wait, I forgot, it was our sponsor - OMEGA Sektor.

In the tournament you used to play with the nick Yamateh, so I assume he is your idol?

xe1feR: I would not call myself a typical fan, but I adore the playstyle especially of Yamateh, but also of AngeL, KuroKy and Puppey.
