EARTH RELIES ON NATURAL GREENHOUSE GASES TO KEEP WARM TO SUPPORT LIFE.
NOW THE EARTH IS DYING FROM GLOBAL WARMING BECAUSE OF RAPIDLY RISING TEMPERATURE CAUSED BY TOO MUCH CO2 IN THE ATMOSPHERE.

CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING
1. excess release of CO2 and other greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuel, natural gas, coal, oil, and gasoline by power plants, automobiles, factories, and other human activities
2. excess release of methane and nitrous oxide by extensive large scale agriculture and factory farming
3. deforestation by non-sustainable commercial mass cutting down of forest trees, resulting in significantly less trees now to replace CO2 with oxygen
4. population growth by increasing and continual human activities that releases even more greenhouse gases.

EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING:
1. Melting Of Polar Ice Glaciers
causes increasing number of earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions in unexpected places; raises sea levels flooding coastalregions and contaminating fresh water supplies
2. Significant Changes In Wind Patterns, Weather Patterns, And Climate
influences the length of seasons; causes more occurring floods, property damage, and death due to more frequent heavy rainfalls, fierce storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, and typhoons
3. Increased CO2
causes more acidic seawater threatining the survival of fish, coral reefs, and planktons; causes rapid increase in temperature
4. Increased Air Temperature
causes reduced agricultured yields, hunger, and extinction of many endangered plant and animal species due to changed habitats; causes heat wave, fires, drought, and water scarcity; causes deserts to expand and snow to disappear in most places; expands the range and breeding grounds of diseases carried by animals and insects, increasing worldwide spread of disesases and death

Bumi kita bergantung pada efek gas rumah kaca alami untuk mendukung kehidupan didalamnya. Sekarang, Bumi sedang diambang kematiannya, akibat dari pemanasan global karena kenaikan temperatur yang begitu cepat yang disebabkan oleh terlalu banyaknya gas karbon dioksida [CO2] di lapisan atmosfir.

Penyebab Pemanasan Global:

1. Pelepasan gas CO2 dan gas-gas hasil dari efek rumah kaca yang berlebihan yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran gas alam, minyak bumi, batubara, minyak dan gasoline oleh pembangkit listrik, mobil, pabrik-pabrik, dan berbagai aktivitas manusia lainnya.

2. pelepasan gas methane dan nitrous oxide akibat perluasan lahan pertanian dan industri peternakan besar-besaran

3. deforestasi (penggundulan hutan) oleh pihak-pihak tertentu demi kepentingan komersial menebang pohon-pohon di hutan, yang membuat jumlah pohon-pohon yang memproses gas CO2 menjadi Oksigen berkurang drastis.

4 Pertumbuhan penduduk melalui pertambahan dan kesinambungan aktivitas manusia yang menghasilkan lebih banyak efek rumah kaca.

Akibat Pemanasan Global

1. Melelehnya es di kutub Utara dan selatan bumi
memberi dampak pertambahan jumlah bencana gempa bumi, tsunami, dan letusan gunung berapi di tempat yang tidak dapat diduga sebelumnya; meningginya air laut, yang mengurangi luasnya daratan dan mengkontaminasi persediaan air tawar di bumi.

2. Perubahan perkiraan angin, cuaca dan iklim di berbagai belahan dunia
jangka waktu setiap musim yang tidak bisa diprediksi lagi; terjadi banjir, kerusakan fasilitas umum dan rumah-rumah penduduk, dan kematian yang meningkat akibat pertambahan curah hujan, badai petir, angin ribut/tornado, dan angin puting beliung.

3. peningkatan kadar gas CO2
mengakibatkan semakin banyak perairan terkontaminasi yang mempengaruhi kehidupan biota laut; perubahan suhu yang meningkat drastis.

4. Meningkatnya temperatur udara
Mengakibatkan berkurangnya hasil produksi pertanian, kelaparan dimana-mana, dan ancaman kepunahan bagi binatang dan tumbuhan akibat perubahan habitat/iklim; mengakibatkan gelombang panas, kebarakaran hutan, kekeringan, dan krisis air bersih; meluasnya padang gurun dan salju mencair di berbagai tempat dimuka bumi; memperluas wilayah dan perkembangbiakan kuman/virus yang ada dalam binatang dan serangga, sekaligus meningkatkan jumlah penyakit dan kematian di berbagai belahan dunia
