The Battle of Icecrown, part two : Death March

[Legion I Command]

The shadow vault was in chaos, the utmost front line defenders against the Lich King in Icecrown was under heavy siege, the Death Knights of Acherus defend their ground from the opposing death. Since the shadow vault was taken from the scourge, the Scourge never attempt a heavy siege like this, but the Death Knights are a force to be reckon with...in life or death

Darion Mograine : Hold fast ! they will never get past us !

Death Knight : Yes milord !

Death Knight : cover the western approach, the leaper was trying to climb the wall !

Death Knight : Kill every last of them !!!!!

The fighting intensed as the Scourge's leaper reach the outer wall, the leapers was no match for the Death Knight, but strength in number, the leaper quickly dominate most of the wall, leaving the wall defenseless from the Death Knight, giving a precious oppurtunity for the scourge to put up a ladder and deploy their strong forces to the wall. Darion ride his horse to cover the approach, he knew if the Scourge could deploy their abomination in the wall, the vault will fall quickly, he orders the raiders to trample the Scourge Forces in the wall

Darion : Riders ! trample them ! Vile ! clear them !

Riders : oorahhh !!!!!!

Vile : Me want fun ! (Vile the Abomination swing his hook and trample the leapers in the wall)

The scourge forces in the outer wall was scattered, they're no match for the riders, the Scourge cannot deploy their ladder as the retreating death knights return to their position in the wall. Vile swing his mighty hook and trample all the leapers in his range.

Baron Silver : Milord ! the meat wagon was fired !

The meat wagon was proved annoying, the ammunition killed several death knights and the bad news is, the scourge have so many wagon down there. The Shadow Vault defenders also have the same weapon in high places, but the scourge has more

Baron Silver : Wagons ! return fire ! concentrate on their siege engines ! calculate your every shot ! make it count !

The wagon's engineer understand fully what the Baron told them, the Scourge fired their weapon without any calculations, they believe their number is more than enough, that's why they fired their siege weapon like they wanted to, sometimes, killing their own in the process. But when the Ebon's engineer calculated their shot, one or two scourge engine's were grounded. Once again the Death Knights of Acherus was in the upper position, the scourge cannot deploy their forces in the upper walls and every attempt to climb to the wall was quickly handled. But the scourge is not yet finished

Lord Marrowgar : summon the frostbrood ! let this traitors freeze in their stand !

Scourge Death Knight : Yes milord

The frostbrood appear from the sky, attacking in vast numbers, breathing the chill of the icecrown itself, brining death from above

Darion : defenders ! repel them ! archers ! to the upper position ! Morlia ! send the winged steel !

Vile : come down ye little birdie !

Morlia Doomwing : Fly ! fly to the sky ! show them the might of the Ebon Blade !

Lack of frostbwyrm, Darion send the sky raiders to defend the sky, the Winged steel of Ebon Blade maybe not good enough to repel the strong frostwyrm, but their agility combine with the archer's fire from below became a deadly combination, the Frostwyrm having a hard time against the Winged Steel, several frostwyrm were downed, but now, having the defender's attention distracted to the Frostwyrm, the Scourge deploy their ladder

Lord Marrowgar : deploy the ladders ! deploy the siege tower ! man the wall ! this is the time !

The defenders of shadow vault was quickly overwhelmed by the attacking scourge, several winged steel was downed from the sky, the Death Knights in the wall was now overwhelmed by the Scourge, the Scourge was quickly take over the outer walls

Darion : retreat ! retreat to inside !

Baron Silver : you heard him ! get inside !

Vile : Vile will not get inside...vile will stand outside, vile want kill not hide

Darion : thank you vile, we will remember you, the rest of you ! get inside !

The death knights quickly get inside the vault and sealed the gate, they barricade the gate with everything they could find,Vile and several defenders sacrifice themselves to hold the scourge outside

Vile : (swing his mighty hook, killing many scourge in process) : NOW TRY TO HIDE, FROM THIS ! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!

Vile : COME HERE LITTLE FILTHY ! I TEAR YOU !

Scourge commander : overwhelmed him ! make it quick

Vile : OOH ? YOU WANT TO PLAY ? COME ON !!!! PLAYYY !!!!

Soon the scourge overwhelmed the mighty abomination, and it takes more than 10 scourge army to downed him

Vile : Vile...want...sleep...

later, there's a scream of the the last defenders who hold outside, they have been completely slain, now the scourge is tring to ram the gate

Baron Silver : now they're really overwhelmed us

Darion : Hold fast ! we must not let them through ! Morlia ! prepare the evacuation ! we have to retreat to the Argent Vanguard if necessary !

The ram was getting intensed

Darion : If they wish to take the shadow vault, they will take it with their life, wired this place, put every seaforium charges you could find, i want this place reduced to rubble if they ever get through !

Aurochs Grimbane : it will be done my liege ! Death Knights ! put the charges in the places ! i want this place wired in 5 minutes !

The death was laughing outside, mocking and threatening, the ram continue to pound the wall

Darion : wait...

Scourge army : hahahahahaha ! now death all of you

Scourge army : we are gonna feast on you hahahahaha !!!!

Darion : hold...

Scourge army : make it fast you filthy ! i want to feast them !

Darion : hold...

The wall was nearly downed...

Darion : NOW ! burn the wire !

Baron Silver : done !

Darion : open the upper hatch ! prepare to fly on my mark !

Morlia : on your mark !

Darion : steady...NOW !

The winged steel fly to the upepr hatch, the gate was now destroyed, the scourge was flooding the palce quickly, only to find the Winged Steel fly quickly in their head, they mock, jeering, threatend, trying to shot the birds down, but then...

BLAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

The vault was engulfs in smoke and explosion, the scourge who was inside was buried in the vault's rubble

Darion : Ah...very well, it should keep them in there...we will return again, and when we are, the head of the Lich King will be ours also...

The Death Knight quickly evacuate to the Argent Vanguard, Tirion rush to Darion, asking what happened

Tirion : what happened, Darion, we heard explosion and smoke fills the sky

Darion : It is time, highlord, the death has carved their first step of Death March upon us...it has begun...

Tirion was shocked, but he quickly control it, he didn't realize the scourge will act this quickly, but then, his head was filled with many thoughts

Darion : Tirion ?

Tirion : prepare to summon the army, we're going to need everybody who could wield a weapon, the time is now...
