MYM adds 13abyknight for ESWC
Amel 'PlaymatE' Barudzija. However, due to a series of unfortunate events Lacoste will be unable to make the final trip to ESWC this year with the team, citing work commitments as the main reason why he will not be able to attend his first major event under the MYM flag.
While Lacoste's absence might be seen as a major blow to the squad's title ambitions for ESWC, MYM have arguably found the best possible replacement in
Jon '13abyknight' Andersen. Touted as one of the best carries in European DotA, 13abyknight is none other than the star player of his own team
Online Kingdom, where he led the team to countless victories including being crowned champions of the European DotA Championships. Being of Danish descent, he will undoubtedly fit in well with the rest of the players and this now makes
MYM going into the event a full danish lineup.
In addition, it should be noted that 13abyknight will only join on a temporary basis for the duration of the tournament, after which he will return to the Online Kingdom. myMYM would like to take this opportunity to thank the OK management and team for their graciousness in allowing us to use 13abyknight as a last stand-in for ESWC. With the lineup now made official, the MYM.DotA squad will be looking forward to putting in their best performances for the most prestigious DotA event of the year.
Below contains statements from 13abyknight and Maelk regarding the former's last minute additon to the squad for the event.
Statement from Denmark 13abyknight, ESWC stand-in:
I am very enlighted to announce that I will be going to ESWC with MYM as their standin and fifth player. When they asked me I just couldn't say no. That's a pleasure to make a roster with 5 Danish. We will practice hard for the upcoming event and I'm sure we can win it! Fans, I won't let you down!
Statement from
Maelk, MYM.DotA captain:
Due to scheduling-difficulties for Lacoste that didn't allow him to put in the needed time for ESWC, we have decided to temporarily replace him with Jon "13abyKnight" Andersen for the tournament in France. Jon is one of the most talented European carry-players at the moment and has grown into a consistent player that will hopefully fill out the gap Lacoste leaves behind. MYM fighting!
Statement from
Guilherme Fraga, Online-Kingdom Managing Director:
We want to explain why we didnt use 13abyknight in our ESWC roster. ESWC rules says that you cant participate to the tournament with less than 3 players from the same country so we had to take one more german player. Along with the team captain we decided 13aby wasn't part of the team for ESWC. Nevertheless he is such a talented player, and I wish him best of luck at the event with MYM !
MYM roster (For ESWC):
Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen (Captain)
Brian 'MaNia-' Strandby
Martin 'PusHer' Mogensen
Amel 'PlaymatE' Barudzija
Jon '13abyknight' Andersen
