ANDREY ARSHAVIN has hailed the best supporters in the world – but they are not at the Emirates.

The Arsenal player said Russian fans should learn how to support their team better by taking lessons from Liverpool’s supporters.

Before Russia’s 2-1 win over Slovenia in a World Cup play off on Saturday, he said: “Our fans need to learn from the English football supporters, and in particular from Liverpool fans.”

Told that Chelsea star Yuri Zhirkov was awe-struck about the support Manchester United fans gave their team against CSKA Moscow in the recent Champion’s League clash, he said: “It’s only because he hasn’t played against Liverpool yet.”

Arshavin ticked off Russian fans for failing to back their team for the full 90 minutes in one of the previous matches.

Liverpool - Usai dua pekan berturut-turut gagal menang, Liverpool akhirnya memetik tiga angka usai mengalahkan West Ham United. Ini seperti jawaban atas kritikan yang datang menghampiri skuad Roy Hodgson tersebut.

Setelah ditahan imbang Wigan Athletic 1-1, The Reds kemudian dibekuk Stoke City 0-2 pekan lalu. Imbasnya, suara-suara yang meminta Hodgson untuk didepak muncul. Tapi kenyataannya, posisi Hodgson tetap aman.

Jelang pertemuan dengan West Ham, skuad Liverpool sedikit pincang akibat kehilangan Lucas Leiva dan Steven Gerrard. Lucas mendapatkan kartu merah dalam laga melawan Stoke, sementara Stevie G cedera kala membela Inggris.

Dengan skuad yang kurang itulah Liverpool menang tiga gol tanpa balas. Mengandalkan Fernando Torres, David Ngog dan Dirk Kuyt sebagai andalan di lini depan, dan dengan ditopang Raul Meireles di tengah, 'Si Merah' terbukti mampu mengatasi masalah.

"Saya pikir sangat penting untuk meraih kemenangan dan saya pikir kami melakukannya dengan sedikit gaya," ujarnya kepada Sky Sports.

"Kami tahu apa yang harus kami lakukan hari ini. Kami sadar harus melakukannya tanpa Steven dan Lucas. Tapi, pemain yang bermain hari ini sungguh sangat bagus."
