    Default Please Help

    Hello all.

I play World of Warcraft (Cataclysm content)on a United States West Coast server (realm)and am having trouble logging into the game at an internet cafe in Bandung. I keep getting the "Patch Information Required" but there was not a patch available at the time. I believe that the latest expansion installed on the computers in the internet cafe is WOTLK, but that should not prevent my logging in, as the last time I logged in/out was in a pre-Cataclysm area. Secondly, do the internet cafes in Indonesia only allow playing on local World of Warcraft servers? The reason I ask this is because there was another gamer playing WoW who had just a name and password at the sign on screen, not the usual wow/battlenet ID which ends in .com, .net, etc... He recommend I come to Indogamers.com to ask. Thank you very much for your time and information.

We can actually play the officials. The problem is both the Patch and the players.

about the internet cafes, I don't really know (I play at home). But I do believe that some internet cafes allow you to play the Official, but again, theres a problem with the patch (As you know most of the computers in internet cafes are WOTLK: 3.3.5a). But if you want to play CATA on Indonesian computers, have the patch AND have the realm list correct to the official Blizzard Battle Net realm list. I think you'll be able to play the official servers.

But if you are interested in playing our lovely server AMPM, (the server you saw on that other guy's computer), go to Technical Support and follow the steps to register

Thank you for the information Jayarazo. You said "haveve the patch and realm list correct to the official Blizzard Battle Net realm list" I am not sure what you mean, well, my question is: How do I go about doing that? Also, thank you for the invite to the AMPM server. I may have to pay you folks a visit

he's saying the internet cafe u are playing at might have used the local server's IP address, instead of Blizzard's. Judging from your description of seeing someone else playing on the local servers, I believe this is the case.

I think this your first time logging in through an internet cafe here yes?

you should check with your cafe manager, and look at the realmlist.wtf file in your WoW folder.

you can find it in World of Warcraft/Data/EnUS/realmlist.wtf

Open it with notepad. To connect to Blizzard's servers it should be:

    set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
    set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
    set realmlistbn ""
    set portal us
replace "us" with "eu" if the client you are using is the European version.

Having that said, the local server's realmlist would look like this:

    set realmlist 175.103.60.35

But if you do what Kaios says, remember to switch it back to the local realmlist, or the next guy using that computer will be frustrated
