A Tale in the Desert III
Storyline :
Ancient Egypt was a land steeped in history, achievements and wonder; a feral continent capable of turning bleak as quickly as bountiful, fallen as suddenly as fertile. Yet through it all, its robust people have woven a rich tapestry and, with the aid of a staunch belief in their almighty, overseeing gods and pharaoh, they constructed a civilization unlike any other in all antiquity. Relive a time when greatness was born not of weapons and armor, but of productivity and solidarity. Do you have what it takes to rise above the hardships you will face?
Its setting of historically real Ancient Egypt is not the only aspect which makes A Tale in the Desert III unique among MMOGs. It also lacks combat, focusing instead on socioeconomics as a path to character advancement. In addition, players are able to have a lasting effect on the virtual world; the game reaches an endpoint, after which a new chapter or “Telling” begins, which shows physical signs of the previous Telling. Players can even make their own rules by creating “laws” which are voted on by the players and then considered by the Pharaoh (who is in actuality the game’s developer, Andrew Tepper) and the GMs.
As its name suggests, A Tale in the Desert III is currently into its Third Telling and new players must cooperate with one another and make their way through the First and Second Tellings to reach the Third. The entire game, in fact, is designed to strengthen community above all else and the land is constantly changing as a result of community actions, giving the feeling of a living, breathing civilization. Though this tightly knit community numbers only in the thousands, the distinctive style of gameplay attracts many female players and garners a high level of civility and generosity.

Adellion
Storyline :
Adellion is a mmoRPG, developed by HonourBound Ltd.
When is the Beta/Release?
Beta and release are still undetermined at this time.
Will there be more than one test? Will the people from Beta 1 automatically be in Beta 2 or will they have to sign up for it?
There will be three phases to the beta testing of ADellion, players who are in the early tests will have the option of carrying over from Beta to Beta.
How many are allowed in Beta?
Beta 1 will consist of 1,000 players (or as many as we can support). Beta 2 will allow another 1,000 players to join Adellion. Beta 3 will be an open beta.
What are the races on Adellion?
There is only one race, humans. However currently there are 10 cultures and numerous sub-cultures. The cultures all have various strengths, weaknesses and customs that separate them.
What about the non-player creatures in Adellion?
Adellion will have over 200 animals and as many plants. As the world is a fantasy world there will also be animals and plants native to the world of Adellion.
How are the cultures controlled?
Developers control the non-player cultures and are members of the Lore Team. This may however change once the game has been released as positions can be taken by force, passed on from PC to PC and even entire cultures wiped out or driven to exile.
How are the laws and rules of the various cultures decided?
All matters pertaining to the player interaction with the world are dependent upon the player. If the player is a hermit far away from any city they may do as they please. However if the player is a city dweller then they must follow the rules of the player/players governing that city. Any player with the strength, either militarily or psychologically, can change any rule or law.
How will law enforcement be handled?
Any culture that allows new members to be randomly killed by other players will hamper its own growth and strength. It is up to the individual cultures to enforce laws and protection of its own citizens. Most cultures already have laws and practices in place for this sort of issue. The game mechanics will also help the players with the NPC guard, tracking, shackling and prison features.
How will money and prices be set?
Currency in Adellion varies from culture to culture as some cultures value water over coin. Prices will follow the supply & demand model. Additionally culture and town leaders will be able to block the use of foreign currency in their towns, making trade embargoes a reality.
Is there permanent death?
Yes, however after a new character is created they have a period, 1 week, where they cannot be harmed, harm anyone else or use any of the rogue skills. After this period is over they may be killed or knocked unconscious. If they are killed they experience a 'near death' stage and wake up in the nearest Hands of Mercy hospital currently controlled by their default culture. A player may have 3 of these experiences, the third time they die for good however and must continue playing as their heir. If they have no heir then they must create a new character. Heirs inherit all the physical goods of their previous avatar.
What other pursuits are there except war?
Apart from being a soldier, there are endless occupations for players. These range from traders to craftspeople, priests to entertainers, shephards to poets, thieves to innkeepers, spies to ferrymen, the opportunities are endless.
How many characters are allowed on one account?
Only one character is allowed per account.
Will the game be available in stores or downloadable and is there any idea of a monthly charge for playing at this time?
The game will be avaliable for download and will also have an additional montly charge as with many of the current MMORPGS in circulation today.
Any idea of system minimum requirements at this time?
The minimum requirements are not set yet.
Can I play with a modem, or will I need a broadband connection?
We aim to support both narrowband (modems) and broadband connections.
Will Adellion only be a PC based game or will it be available in the future for X-Box, PS2 or Nintendo?
Adellion will be avaliable on PC, Linux and Macintosh when first released.
Will the people in the US have to play on a European server?
Servers will be distributed around the world to make ease of game play good for all the people who play.
Will there be updates and/or expansions? Will they be free and downloadable or will they come in a box at the store? Or will there be a charge to download expansions?
New content will be added regularly - we are undecided as to how expansion packs will be distributed.
Will there be decent Customer Service?
We will provide the best possible customer service that we can.
Will you place a cap on the number of characters a single server can support?
There is only one Adellion world, so things like shards will not exist - the servers will dynamically support their loads to make gameplay fast and easy.
What ESRB rating will Adellion have or will it be rated?
Adellion is a game suited for all ages.
Will there be a comprehensive game manual? In box or downloadable?
There will be an indepth manual accompanying the game.
Will there be an Alarm Clock to help players monitor their playtime?
No.
Will the game be only Windows based or will it also work with Linux or on a Mac system?
The game will be avaliable on Windows, Linux and Macintosh at release.
Will there be in-game help like in UO, i. e. GMs and so on?
Yes, they will be called sages.
