I'm the developer of Warcraft Gaming Network which has just been openly released for beta testing and am inviting you to participate.

It's been quite a small operation thus far --just myself and a small group of internal beta testers-- and has now reached a point where we can begin introducing the platform to the loyal (albeit, small) remaining Warcraft III community.

The client is intended as a replacement for Garena due to it's discontinuation and therefor functions much the same (with the addition of a cheat-detection system for game hosts to quell the rampant usage of Maphack)

You can read more about the project and download the client software on the website.

Note: At present the network is somewhat barren given it has only just been released and encourage you to invite your friends to help us populate the community and spread the word.

I just switched off dota 1 this February even, shame. Just don't see a reason to play it again.

Blizzard is reliable because they are an established company operating under the means of the laws of many countries. You instead are just a hacker operating under a nickname that is working on an alternative client useful to play online with pirated copies of Warcraft III. You could be anyone, even a scammer. If in the future the Battle.net service would be discontinued, for the older games we may could use some alternative clients... But at the moment Blizzard is still supporting its older games.

Reliable in respect to what? Blizzard currently have one developer on the legacy team responsible for SC,D1,D2,WC2,WC3 so it would be unfair of me to compare myself to him, however, within a month I've responded swiftly to every problem that players raise with WGN and bugfix releases come every several days.

Not to mention, this is a hobby project that I do for enjoyment thus I have an intrinsic incentive to keep it maintained.

Right, and politicians are trustworthy because they're elected into government.

You don't like the idea that people are able to use external clients because it's possible for them to circumvent the licensing validation --I get it-- however this is about being pragmatic.

And honestly, scamming? If I wanted to scam someone it wouldn't be a dwindling community of Warcraft III players and it surely wouldn't involve something that's actually functional. "DOTA2 MAPHACK" would make much more sense. Try thinking about these things first.
