    you want to wear socks because you want to go somewhere, and there are in a dark room

    you went into a dark room, pitch black, and there are socks inside, 2 types of socks, example red and white. there are a huge pile of them, the color is mixed, but you can't see them because the room is pitch black, but you can still feel it

    how many socks minimum you must take out to get at least a pair of same color for you to wear?

    grp for the first correct (or thanks)

    btw, i'm confused but you pattern...

    a = 1
    d = 4 (+3)
    g = 7 (+3)
    j = 10 (+3)
    m = 13 (+3)
    p = 16 (+3)
    t =20 (+4) ---> what's this??? 3 become four??? weird!!!
    w = 23 (+3) ---> now 3 again????

    b = 2 + 26 = 28 (+5) ---> now become 5... confused hard!!!

    Why are the letters S and Z not included?
    here's a short explanation for u...

    i answered this when i SMS with my friend... so i realize that the pattern is KEYPAD number in handphone

    2 = a-b-c
    3 = d-e-f
    4 = g-h-i
    5 = j-k-l
    6 = m-n-o
    7 = p-q-r-s
    8 = t-u-v
    9 = w-x-y-z

    in this case, ervan the "ervie" just take 3 first letter in that following order...

    that's why S and Z don't included... coz they're 4th letter in this order~

    is short... isn't it?

    got it?

    hahaha okay here we go:
    240. (x-a)(x-b)(x-c)...(x-z)=???
    should be quite easy...

    241. The famous "Census-Taker Problem" (it seems impossible for some, although it may be easy for the experienced)
    A census-taker knocks on a door, and asks the woman inside how many children she has and how old they are.
    "I have three daughters, their ages are whole numbers, and the product of the ages is 36," says the mother.
    "That's not enough information," responds the census taker.
    "I'd tell you the sum of their ages, but you'd still be stumped"
    "I wish you'd tell me something more."
    "Okay, my oldest daughter Mary likes dogs."
    What are the ages of the three daughters?

    okay...

    there's 3 daughters... and the product is 36...
    so the possibility is :

    1.1.36
    1.2.18
    1.3.12
    1.4.9
    1.6.6
    2.2.9
    2.3.6
    3.3.4

    "I'd tell you the sum of their ages, but you'd still be stumped"
    let sum it ^.^

    1.1.36 = 38
    1.2.18 = 21
    1.3.12 = 16
    1.4.9 = 14
    1.6.6 = 13
    2.2.9 = 13
    2.3.6 = 11
    3.3.4 = 10

    "Okay, my oldest daughter Mary likes dogs."
    it means... there's is an OLDEST daughter...

    in possibility 1.6.6, there's 2 daughter that have same old..

    cut the possibility

    1.1.36 = 38
    1.2.18 = 21
    1.3.12 = 16
    1.4.9 = 14
    2.2.9 = 13
    2.3.6 = 11
    3.3.4 = 10

    still confused??? there's so many possibility

    What are the ages of the three daughters?
    okay : here's the answer :

    the possibility that has been cut is : 1.6.6 that's sum 13

    so there's any possibility that sum 13???

    that : 2.2.9

    so the asnwer is:

    9 years old
    2 years old
    2 years old

    is that right???

    sorry for the bad english... i hope u all understand >,<

    can i give the next question??? logic of course...
