Crysis Warhead is an upcoming science fiction first-person shooter computer game developed by video game developer Crytek Budapest and published by Electronic Arts. It is scheduled for release in Fall (Autumn) 2008. The game is a parallel story that follows Sergeant Michael 'Psycho' Sykes, a character from the first game, as he faces his own trials and challenges on the other side of the island during the time period of the first game. It will feature new fully customizable weapons, vehicles and enemies, along with new multiplayer content. It will showcase a new, enhanced and optimized version of CryEngine 2 and will be the first game developed by Crytek's Budapest studio.[2] It has been announced that Crysis Warhead will be featured among EA's lineup at E3 2008.
While Crysis was previously announced to be a trilogy, Crysis Warhead will not be the second chapter in that trilogy.
The developers have also claimed that due to further optimizations of CryEngine 2, Crysis Warhead would have better performance than the original Crysis.
