Useful information before you extend the slot of your equips.
Extender Types:
Slot Extender Low (got this from Volcanic Citadel twice - any chest)can extend the slots of the lowest grade equips up to shadow steel (or equivalent grade on other job)
Slot Extender Medium((Map Part) Zigris Paelo - Last boss) – from lowest to Titanium grade equips.
Slot Extender High(SOD-Archer Legacy Chest) – Dunno yet
Mithril – SLOT EXTENDER HIGHEST??? Dunno yet
Benefits of Extending your Equips.
When you succeed on extending the slot of your equips, your extended equip will have an additional stat bonus.
Example.
When you extend a Titanium GS of Deathblow +16 Crit Rate [2] with 40% Crit Damage, the stats of your new sword will become Titanium GS of Deathblow +16 Crit Rate [3] 48%Crit Damage. And of course another 1 free slot. Geeez..
Highlights:
Now hirs the twist. I know most of you might want to put another critical damage increase on the last slot (3rd Slot) so you will get Titanium GS of Deathblow +16 Crit Rate[3] + 72 Crit Damage! HOLA XET!!
Sad to say but you can’t get the outcome you want. Ting!! Yah its true.
Instead, your sword will become Titanium GS of Deathblow +16 Crit Rate [3] 50% Crit Damage. Yes you are ryt, putting another critical damage on the third slot will only give you another 2% of Crit Damage. Frustrating? ^_^
Max Critical Damage for 2hand weapon is 50%. (Updated: January 29,2009)
(Exception: When your Titanium GS of deathblow is Titanium GS of Deathblow +32% Crit Damage [2], (+32% Crit Damage instead of +16%Crit rate) the +32% Crit Damage is not included on the 50% Crit Damage Cap computation. It means you can have a total of 82%Crit Damage Increase.
My Tip:
Since you will only get 2% additional Crit Damage on the third slot, why don’t you try a level 2 upgrade(random) on the last slot?? If your lucky enuf you can get +14%Crit Rate(extended). But I recommend that you put a level 1 catalyst on your upgrade. So that if the level2 upgrade fails, at least you can get the level 1 upgrade that you want.
Super Info Plus! ^_^
Have you experience this, you upgrade your two slotted equip and got a level 2 upgrade on the first slot? Then you upgrade it again and got a level 1 upgrade. Did you notice the level 2 upgrade was moved on the second slot, and the level 1 upgrade took the first slot? Wondering why?
Here is my own explanation and I think it is still connected on extending equips.
Let’s imagine you got this Sword.
Titanium GS of Deathblow +16Crit Rate [3] 24%Crit Damage on the first slot, +14% Crit Rate on second slot and an empty slot on the third slot. (Updated: January 29, 2008)
VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!
Did you know that when you fill the third slot and you fail, the +14%Crit Rate p on your 2nd slot will be gone? Now yah know ^^ (I don’t know what will happen if both of the upgrades are level 2 ups.)
And it doesn’t matter if the 2nd slot is a level2 or a level1 upgrade. It will be gone if you fail the 3rd slot upgrade.
So maybe this explains why level 2 upgrades took the 2nd slot of your equip. So think twice before upgrading the 3rd slot of your equip because you might loose your precious ups on your equip.
*** The example here was applied on Great Sword (Two Hand Weapon). Just divide the stats by 2 for 1 hand weapon.
