If an artists puts their work in the public forum, then they are subject to criticism. Some artists will often say "You're not better then me, you can't criticize me" - Bull ****. I don't need to be a Hollywood film director to say Twilight sucked.
When you make something and show it to people (be it music, film or game) you're giving it to the public. If the public don't like something about it, then your art has a problem. Everybody's point of view matters. People on dA need to stop hiding in hug boxes and crying every-time someone doesn't like what they've made. Grow a cock.
If musicians were excellent at making a certain sound, it doesn't mean that the consumer will want to purchase it. Everyone's opinion matters.
Sure everyone should be able to take criticism, good or bad. Otherwise you will never really develop as an artist if you don't have an outside source pointing out good or bad things about your work. Things you might never considered or thought was not that special to care about.
But then again I can understand if a struggling artist get kind of pissed if the criticism given simply says "yo you suck!". Sure the point of dislike comes across, but not the reason why. People tend to listen to criticism if you can explain why you don't like it, and if so what they can improve. Sure they might not listen, but at least they won't get as butthurt.
Also just because someone doesn't agree with your criticism doesn't automatically means that they're bad at taking criticism. Just thee things for another perspective.
But of course there are assholes that only listens to praises and close their eyes to any evidences suggesting they're not as good as they think they are. What do we about these people? Nothing, because they're good for nothing **** that doesn't deserve attention.
